New school year, new school you! Student Picture Day will be on Tuesday, August 27th during assigned English classes. Student portraits are used for the yearbook and your student ID, so please bring your biggest smile and best hair day! Portraits will be a head shot, from the mid-chest upwards, so please dress accordingly. Order forms will be distributed during the first week of school for optional package purchases (prices range from $17 to $60) and can be found online at mylifetouch.com (event code EVTMDFCVR). Lifetouch will only accept cash, check, or money order on picture day, however online orders can be placed using a credit/debit card, Venmo, or PayPal.

District 186 Families, We are excited to see our students back in school tomorrow morning! Please check your e-mail ! Hello Lions! Students interested in playing football should reach out to Mr. Hampsey or their Assistant Principal, or attend practice after school on Monday from 3:45-6:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. There is still time to be part of the program. There is still time for students to participate in fall sports. Students interested in competing in boys soccer, boys golf, girls tennis, girls golf, girls swim and dive, and boys and girls cross country should speak to Mr. Hampsey or their AP to express their interest in playing.

The Lanphier High School/Southeast High School Girls Golf Team will meet at Knight's Action Park on August 12 at 4:30 p.m. by the driving range (meet in the lobby by mini-golf entrance). Parent meeting to follow at 5:30 p.m. Please bring your golf clubs, plenty of water, and sunscreen.

The Lanphier High School/Southeast High School Girls Tennis Team will begin practices on August 12 at the Tennis Courts next to Ball Charter School on the corner of Ash Street and Taylor Avenue. Please make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen. The Lanphier High School/Southeast High School Boys Golf Team will have an informational meeting on August 12 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Bunn Park Golf Course.

All incoming freshman mark your calendar for Freshman Forward on Thursday, August 8, 2024 | 8:24 a.m - 11:30 am This event is an opportunity for Freshmen to meet students, teachers and administration at their home high school. Students will get to tour the facility and learn more about their high school experience! Students need to report to the high school that is in their boundary area.Students can use our First Student bus service or be dropped off.

Hello LHS Families! If your student is planning on participating in a sport this school year, please make sure that they have an up-to-date sports physical. They will not be permitted to practice or play until they have one on file. Please contact Ms. Shreves or Mr. Hampsey if you have any questions.

The Keep Kids in School Coalition will be offering physicals and immunizations for District 186 students on Wednesday, August 7th at the Sangamon County Department of Public Health. Sign-in hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. No appointment needed. The clinic will only serve District 186 students who are entering Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 6th and 9th grade and those who are new to Illinois who must provide a current physical exam and immunization record. All 12th grade students must provide proof of having received a dose of the meningococcal vaccine on or after their 16th birthday. The legal parent or guardian must accompany their child. No sports physicals will be offered. Thank you!

Things are getting exciting for the start of school! Band students are pumped for the new year. This week they came in for uniform fitting and next week they will be attending band camp.
