Today a few LHS students had the opportunity, with Mr. Metzke, to join over 80 other students from 20 other school districts and attend Senator Steve McClure's Youth Advisory Council. There they learned about governmental processes.

Attention Seniors!
There will be a district wide FAFSA Completion Night held at the Lanphier High School Atrium on Thursday, October 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

If you did not have your senior portrait taken over the summer or during the retake day a few weeks ago, we have a LAST CALL opportunity on Tuesday, October 7th! Today we celebrate our incredible custodial team! Their hard work keeps our school safe, clean, and welcoming for students and staff every single day. Not all of our custodial team members are pictured here, but we appreciate each and every one of them. Happy Custodial Appreciation Day!

Lanphier High School’s Picture Retake Day is on Tuesday, October 7th for all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who either have not had their picture taken OR desire to have their picture retaken. The process will be a little different this year. We are asking students to make an appointment for their picture. A valid reason for retake must be provided, and we may reach out to parents to confirm a retake is desired before confirming a student’s request. Parents may view student photos on the LifeTouch website: www.mylifetouch.com

Parents who sign up their students are asked to use the student name in the first field, and may add any additional information in the “Reason for retake” field.

LHS Volleyball practice today has been cancelled.

🚨Lanphier Families🚨 This is a friendly reminder that all physicals and immunizations are due to the school nurse by 10/1/25. If you received a letter in the mail and have not turned this documentation in yet, your student will not be able to attend school starting 10/1/25 until the documentation is complete. If you have a doctor's appointment for a physical scheduled, please make sure the nurse is aware of that appointment so your student can stay in school. The end of the quarter is 10/16/25, so your student's attendance is crucial. Your student can bring their physical to the nurse's office or it can be faxed from the doctor's office to 217-718-7145. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter.

Heads up! Just a reminder about the Cohort Program parent/ Family meeting is tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. This meeting is only for those students assigned to Assistant Principal, Ms. Nosa.

An informational meeting for boys that are interested in Track & Field will take place immediately after school on Thursday 9/25 in Mr. Martin's classroom, room 1-073.

We had a wonderful event this past week for our Seniors that gave them insight on their future! Mr. Metzke, our Post Secondary Coach, works diligently to get our Seniors prepared for what their next steps will be after they graduate. This Pathway to the Future event was one of many examples that he plans for our students. We thank everyone who came together to make this possible for our students! Their future is very bright!

🚨 Eligibility Reminder for Extracurricular Activities 🚨

Lanphier families, please remember that students must meet eligibility requirements to attend or participate in extracurricular activities. Students who attempt to attend knowing they are not eligible will be asked to leave without a refund.

Students are ineligible if they have:
❌ 8 or more tardies
❌ 5 or more excused or unexcused absences
❌ 3 or more failing grades
❌ Any suspension during the semester

These expectations have been shared since the start of the school year through parent communication, student announcements, Facebook, and at Open House. Thank you for helping us ensure activities remain a positive experience for all students!

This month we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! From music and art to language, food, and traditions, Hispanic and Latino culture has shaped our school, our community, and our country in countless ways.

This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow is a non-attendance day for students, as it is designated as a School Improvement Day for our teachers. Classes will resume on Monday, September 22nd. CACC will still be in attendance.

In addition to the last opportunity for Senior Portraits, freshmen, sophomore, and juniors who were not photographed on our normal Picture Day will be called during the school day tomorrow to have their picture taken for their school ID, yearbook photo, and intranet photos.
Please ensure your student is dressed for their best picture tomorrow!
