Illinois state law requires all 12th grade students to provide proof of having received two doses of meningococcal conjugate vaccine with the last vaccine given on or after the 16th birthday. If the first dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine was received on or after the 16th birthday, only one dose is required for entry into 12th grade. Written proof of having received the vaccine is due in the school office by the first day of the 2024-2025 school year. Students failing to provide proof of having received the meningococcal conjugate vaccine prior to entering 12th grade will be excluded from school on October 1, 2024. Please contact your child’s doctor today to make an appointment to receive the vaccine or to obtain proof that your child had the required meningococcal conjugate vaccine on or after his/her 16th birthday. If your child does not have a physician, immunizations are available at the Sangamon County Department of Public Health (SCDPH). For immunization clinic hours and to schedule an appointment at the SCDPH, call (217) 535-3100. Reach out to Nurse Barb with any questions.

Ella finished State with a 1-2 record against top opponents with previous state experience. She won her first match with an impressive pin. Ella faced extremely tough competition in her second match against the #5 ranked (in her weight class) high school wrestler in the country, and had another tough match against a senior wrestler. We are all very proud of Ella and her many accomplishments this season!
