What can you do with $10 in your pocket? McDonalds? Taco Bell? Roblox? Gas for a road trip? If you pre-order your 2024-25 Lan-Hi Yearbook before Spring Break, you will save $10! The purchase price of the 89th Volume of the Lan-Hi is $55, however you can save $10 by pre-ordering before March 14th. Pre-orders can be placed online at https://yearbookordercenter.com/job/25394 or by completing an order form in the main office (payment due at time of order). We are excited to announce that Lanphier High School’s football team will be hosting a fundraiser with Double Good Gourmet Popcorn! Starting Thursday, February 27th through Monday, March 3rd, we ask that you help support our team by purchasing some delicious popcorn! The proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to supporting the football team’s equipment, Feed the Lions meal program, and other important needs for the upcoming season. Your support will help ensure that our players have the tools they need to succeed both on and off the field. How to Contribute: 1. Order Popcorn: Simply visit our fundraising page in the link below to place an order for some of Double Good's delicious gourmet popcorn. It’s perfect for snacking or gifting to someone! Several LHS Students went with Mrs. Miller to the Illinois Department of Transportation's 34th Today’s Challenge, Tomorrow’s Reward conference on Wednesday February 26 th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield. The longtime conference is hosted by IDOT’s Office of Business and Workforce Diversity which provides female- and minority-owned businesses with opportunities to make connections and develop skills to grow and succeed. Students got to listen to and meet Olympic Athlete, Jackie Joyner Kersee!

The LHS Life Skills classes made a Cake in a Mug recipe using Grandma Brack's famous recipe. They had to read the directions, measure ingredients, and set the correct time on the microwave. The students all enjoyed their individual cakes! After they had their treat, she came to visit and played games with the students! They enjoyed the visit and got to hear stories of her life.

Yesterday, students from all three of our high schools had the ultimate inspo moment at the Today’s Challenge, Tomorrow’s Reward conference, thanks to Illinois Department of Transportation!🏆✨ The highlight? Hearing from the legendary Jackie Joyner-Kersee—East St. Louis native and SIX-time Olympic medalist! 🥇🔥 Moments like this = game changers. Our students walked away with wisdom, motivation, and that champion mindset. 💡💪 Huge thanks to IDOT for making it happen!

Our Lanphier Life Skills students stocked the food pantry yesterday They picked up 2 large carts of items, took them outside, sorted the items, stacked, and organized the pantry. They worked extremely hard for four class periods to serve their community. We are very proud of their hard work.

Today Mr. Metzke took a group of students to visit the University of Illinois! Students are seeing the campus and what life would be like as a U of I student.

The Black Student Union Presents: Cultural Appreciation Week (February 24th - February 28th) This week will be Cultural Appreciation Week in honor of Black History Month. Everyone in the LHS community is invited and encouraged to participate in the activities that are shown on the attached flyer.
