Message to All LHS Students for Tonight's First Home Football Game:
Tonight is our first home football game of the season and senior night for our football players, Poms, and cheerleaders. Come show your Northside Pride and sit in the student section to cheer on our Lions to a Victory! All students will need to bring their school ID card from last year or be able to log in and pull up their cumulative folder when entering the game. All students will enter into the Main Gate on 11th street of Memorial Stadium. Students - do not forget to check on your eligibility to attend the game. You must have less than 5 absences, less than 8 tardies, NO suspension days, and must be passing 5 out of 7 of your classes to attend. The first 100 students that arrive at the main gate with their ID or cumulative folder will receive a free t-shirt and FREE entry if you wear the t-shirt and sit in the student section. Look for Mrs. Miller at the main gate! Shout out to basketball Coach Blake Turner for supplying the t-shirts! We hope to see you at the game tonight. GO LIONS!
Students that will be 18 or already 18 on Election Day, November 5 can register to vote on Monday, September 9 during their lunch shift in the Atrium.
Students need one form of ID to register.

Picture retake day for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be held Tuesday, October 8th. Students who were absent on Picture Day and students requesting a retake will be photographed on Tuesday, October 8th. More information will be provided closer to that day.
Picture retakes for seniors will be on Wednesday, September 18th. Seniors who were not able to attend the initial picture day or who would like to retake their portrait will have the opportunity at that time. A sign-up form and more information will be provided next week.
All students: these dates are the final dates for your student picture. This is used on your intranet folder, your student ID, and for your yearbook photo. We do not accept external submissions of photos for any of these purposes. You will need your student ID to get in to extracurricular activities!
The Lanphier Lions Baseball program has started open gyms on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (schedule is subject to change) from 3:45 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. On these days you will meet Coach House in the cafeteria.
Freshman students came to the Library today to select books from. The Abe Lincoln Teen Readers Choice List. Mrs. Corcoran selected these books to give away to all students through a grant!

Meet our new F.A.C.E. Liaison!
Welcome to another awesome school year at Lanphier High! My name is Makayla Williams, the Family and Community Engagement Liaison. I am a proud alumna of Lincoln University (MO) where I obtained a Bachelors of Science in Social Work. This is my first year at Lanphier working to support students and their families and I am pleased to partner with you all to ensure that there is a positive and welcoming environment for all of our students, their families, staff, and our community partners.
Our annual open house will take place on Wednesday, August 28th from 6:00 PM-7:00 PM. It is my pleasure to share that Lanphier has received the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESSER/Title I) federal funding to supplement staffing, which includes my position, intervention support for students, purchases to support student learning opportunities, and family engagement activities.
As an ESSER/Title I school, my role as the Family and Community Engagement Liaison is to promote the four principles of family engagement as follows:
• Deepen our Family and Community Engagement system
• Build a Welcoming and Supportive Environment for ALL
• Enhance Two-Way Communication at ALL Levels
• Empower Families in Decision Making

Have you turned in your student's physical or copy of their immunizations to school yet?
All 9th Grade students need a school physical.
All 12th Grade students need the second round of the meningitis vaccine.
Any students that are new to the school need to turn in school physical and their immunization records.
Students can bring these to school, or Nurse Barb will be at Open House on Wednesday, August 28 from 6-7 p.m. and parents can bring these to her then!

New school year, new school you! Student Picture Day will be on Tuesday, August 27th during assigned English classes. Student portraits are used for the yearbook and your student ID, so please bring your biggest smile and best hair day! Portraits will be a head shot, from the mid-chest upwards, so please dress accordingly.
Order forms will be distributed during the first week of school for optional package purchases (prices range from $17 to $60) and can be found online at mylifetouch.com (event code EVTMDFCVR). Lifetouch will only accept cash, check, or money order on picture day, however online orders can be placed using a credit/debit card, Venmo, or PayPal.

Students interested in playing football should reach out to Mr. Hampsey or their Assistant Principal, or attend practice after school on Monday from 3:45-6:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. There is still time to be part of the program.
There is still time for students to participate in fall sports. Students interested in competing in boys soccer, boys golf, girls tennis, girls golf, girls swim and dive, and boys and girls cross country should speak to Mr. Hampsey or their AP to express their interest in playing.
