Good morning, Springfield High! Today is February 13, 2023

After school tutoring will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30-4:30 pm in room 160.

The Junior Class is excited to invite everyone at SHS to the Sadie Hawkin's Dance which will be held February 18th from 8-10 pm in the Commons here at SHS. Tickets are $10 each.  Guests from outside SHS will be allowed and guest forms will be available in the Guidance Office. Form must be filled out and returned to guidance by Thursday, February 16th by 3:30 pm.

Seniors be sure to constantly check the scholarship page and announcements on Canvas for opportunities. Today's highlighted scholarships are for students studying special education, descendants of WWII soldiers, and female students in leadership.

Attention Plant Club Members - we will have a meeting on Tuesday,  February 14th from 3:20-4:30 in Ms. Reinders room 516.  Please see Ms. Reinders or the Plant Club Canvas page for more information.

Addams Family cast there will be a full cast and parent meeting on Monday, February 13th at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium. We will be filling out paperwork and you will be receiving your script and schedule as well as being measured for costumes. Plan to be there and bring your parents!

Juniors - Mrs. Lauer and Mr. Kramer will be taking a group of juniors to Illinois College to attend their regional college fair on March 10th. Physical copies of the permission slip are on the counter of the Guidance Office. More info including colleges attending can be found on the Class Canvas page.

Seniors - many scholarship deadlines are quickly approaching, including two big opportunities the Community Foundation and the Lincoln Land Foundation, both groups of scholarships many SHS students have won. This week's CFLL highlighted scholarships are for SHS athletes, a golfer, and someone who has lots of community service!

Pizza Pizza Pizza, Thursday Thursday, Thursday. Be A Senator will be selling Papa John’s pizza this Thursday for $2/slice in the Commons on both lunch shifts. We will be taking Senator Cash this time for 5 Senator Dollars per slice.

Hey Seniors! It's time to write your senior quote for the yearbook. See the announcement on your class Canvas page for more information and to access the form. All quotes must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 24. 

Congratulation to the Scholastic Bowl team on its performance this weekend in Lincoln. Ethan Baima and Arnav Nargrecha placed in the top 6 ot the experienced division, and Anshul Nagrecha placed in the top 12 of standard division. 

The boys track and field team competed on Friday at the Normal West indoor invite. The top finisher for SHS was Bryson Thomas who finished 4th in the 200.
