Good morning, Springfield High! Today is January 9, 2023

After school tutoring will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30-4:30 pm in room 160.

Attention Plant Club members.  We will have a meeting tomorrow from 3:25-4:30 in Ms. Reinders room, 516.

City T-shirt time! Today at lunch, order forms will be available in main office and Mr. Kramer’s office (153A).  Designs have not been finalized, those images will be shared as soon as possible. Your $40 order will get you t-shirts for four nights a rally towel and helps purchase other props. Orders will be due back to Mr Kramer by next Thursday. Speak to Mr Kramer if you need to arrange later payments, but would still like to order. 

Interested in Black History? Want to help represent SHS and share black history to your peers? If so, the district is again organizing a black history trivia competition between the three schools. The SHS team won two years ago, and so it’s our year to take it back! Interested in competing? Email or talk to Mr Kramer (bkramer@sps186.org)

We also will begin planning for our Black History Month activities as a school. This will include possible trivia, information sharing, and the annual assembly. If interested, email or talk to Mr Kramer as well.

High School Students, You are invited to attend the Superintendent’s Student Roundtable’s Unity Day 2023 on Saturday, January 28, before the last day of the Boys and Girls City Basketball Tournament. The event will run from Noon to 2pm in the lower level of the Bank of Springfield Center. Participants receive a "Lincoln Up Together” event t-shirt, lunch and get to participate in fun games and activities. Please register during your lunch shift this Tuesday-Friday, January 10-13, or by scanning the QR code on one of the posters hanging around school. Registration is limited so don’t wait. Feminist club will be meeting Tuesday after school in Mrs Eaton’s room 366.

Congrats to the Scholastic Bowl A team on its 2 nd place Finish in Macomb Saturday. Arnav Nagrecha and Ethan Baima made the all tournament team, great effort by all.

GSA will meet Friday after school in Mrs. Eaton’s room. Join us to help plan activities for this semester.

Springfield Wrestling placed 7th out of 17 teams at Morton on Saturday. Leading the way was Keyshaun Harris with a 2nd place finish. Kaden Rios and Alex Souva both placed 4th, and Hunter Reid and Shamar Richardson placed 6th.  

Wrestling hosts Rochester and Jacksonville this Thursday before having its City Duals this Friday at Southeast.
