Good morning, Springfield High! Today is October 12, 2022

Day two of spirit week today! Eveyone is looking good! Tomorrow's theme is decades day! Each grade will dress in a different decade! freshman are 60s, sophomores are 70s, juniors are 80s, and seniors are 90s-early 2000s! Hope to see everyone dressed up! 

After school tutoring will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in room 160

The Superintendent’s Student Roundtable is now accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year. The group provides a forum for youth to strengthen unity between all local high schools, and the community. Applications can be found at: https://forms.gle/iFToPEetKcRdkQfk9.  Returning members are asked to complete the form, also. 

The 2022 SHS Homecoming Dance is Saturday, October 15th. Doors open at 6:15 and all students must pass through a search and metal detectors to gain entry. If an SHS student is bringing an outside guest, the proper form must be filled out in its entirety and brought to the dance that evening. No exceptions on the form. All guests must have valid picture identification. Forms are yellow and available in the Guidance Office, room 104.

21/22 yearbooks will be available for purchase in the Main Office, after school ONLY for $85.

School picture retakes are on October 19th.  

October 19th seniors pictures will be from 2:30-3:30 in the Auditorium.

"4th Annual Central Illinois HBCU and State College Fair will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on October 18th at Union Baptist Church, 1405 East Monroe Springfield, IL 62703.  If you have questions, please contact Mr. Kramer or your guidance counselor."

Congratulations to the Lady Senators volleyball team who won a share of the CS8 conference championship by beating Chatham 25-14 25-20. It’s the first conference championship since 2014. The team was lead by Ruth Becker & Olivia Gumz with 10 & 7 kills, Megan Becker & Madison Clark with 11 & 9 assists. Lily Lambert had 8 digs. The Senators finished the conference season with an 8-1 record. Thanks for all who came out & supported us. We play again at home on Thursday.

The Girls swimming and diving team competed in a triangular meet last night.  They were led by Falyn Long with a first place finish in diving.  The following girls had a PR, Elizabeth Sievers in the 100 Back and the 100 Fly, Abby Myers in the 200 Free and the 500 Free, Michelle Venegas in the 50 Free and the 100 Free, Emily Sharp in the 500 Free, Sarah Cavanagh in the 100 Free, Allison Tohme in the 50 Free and Abby Ward in the 100 Back.
