After school tutoring will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in room 160

A bunch of fun sports games is happening tonight! There is a boys' soccer game at Glenwood High School at 6 and girls' volleyball at Glenwood at 7! Girls' Tennis tonight at Washington park at 4:15! The theme for all the games is all out SHS!

The first day of spirit week is today! Everyone looks so good! Tomorrow make sure you participate because the theme is pop culture day! Come dressed as your favorite artist, movie/TV character, famous meme, or more! 

Students and parents - please check the SHS web site for information regarding our home football games this year at Spartan Field. You can find the rules and policies under the NEWS section.

The Superintendent’s Student Roundtable is now accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year. The group provides a forum for youth to strengthen unity between all local high schools, and the community. Applications can be found at: https://forms.gle/iFToPEetKcRdkQfk9.  Returning members are asked to complete the form, also. 

The 2022 SHS Homecoming Dance is Saturday, October 15th. Doors open at 6:15 and all students must pass through a search and metal detectors to gain entry. If an SHS student is bringing an outside guest, the proper form must be filled out in its entirety and brought to the dance that evening. No exceptions on the form. All guests must have valid picture identification. Forms are yellow and available in the Guidance Office, room 104.

21/22 yearbooks will be available for purchase in the Main Office, after school ONLY for $85.

School picture retakes are on October 19th.  

October 19th seniors pictures will be from 2:30-3:30 in the Auditorium.

Have you ever wanted to travel out west?  Come for an informational meeting in Ms. Weller's room 517 today after school.  If you can't make it stop by any time and get information from Ms. Weller.

The girls volleyball team went 2-2 in the Quincy tournament on Saturday to push their record to 21-9. The Lady Senators play for a share of the CS8 championship tonight at Chatham 7pm. Hope you will come out & support the team.

The Springfield High School Girls Tennis Team placed third at the CS-8 Conference Tournament this past weekend.  Nischi Korrapati claimed the singles championship while the tandem of Sheelah Ingebrigtsen/Myla Shannon placed fourth in doubles.  Hayden Thongsithavong and the doubles team of TeTee Jallah/Kally Chen also claimed victories contributing to the team's strong finish.  Congratulations on your accomplishments!

The SHS cross country team competed in their final regular season meet on Saturday at the Metamora invite.  In the Freshman/Sophomore girls division, Keziah Toran was the top finisher for SHS.  The varsity girls were led by Payton Heise. On the boys side, the freshman/sophomores were led by Clayton Borah and the varsity boys were led by Finn Loken.  The teams next compete on Saturday at Lincoln Park in the Central State Eight Conference meet.  Race times for Saturday are 10:00 for boys and 11:00 for girls!

Springfield High Girls Swim and Dive team placed second in a triangular meet with SHG and Jacksonville on Saturday.  Top finishers were Isabella Cavanagh with a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke and 2nd in the 50 free, Sarah Cavanagh with a 2nd in the 200 IM and the 100 Fly and Falyn Long with a first in diving.  Congratulations girls!

The boys golf team finished 4th in state.  Peyton Woods led the Senators and finished 5th overall to receive a medal.  Congratulations to Peyton Woods, Jake Baldin, James Oh, Julian Valenti, Bryce Pound, James Jenkins and Luke Elston.  Congrats again on an incredible season.
