Congrats to the freshman football team on their 46-13 victory over Mt. Zion Thursday night. Armanze Lewis led the way with three rushing touchdowns. Kale Thurman was on the receiving end of two Brody Scheffler touchdown passes, and Zach Graham also had a touchdown run. Defensively, Kale Thurman and Zach Graham both had interceptions. The freshman team is now 3-2 on the season.
The JV football team dropped a hard fought game 14-12 to Decatur MacArthur. Marell Thomas again came down with an interception and the Senators were able to secure a fumble recovery. Despite TD runs by Brody Scheffler and birthday boy Armanze Lewis, who put it in the endzone with less than a minute to go, the Senators were unable to convert on either two point conversion and that ended up costing them the game.
And now the Pledge of Allegiance!
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
