The Superintendent’s Student Roundtable is now accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year. The group provides a forum for youth to strengthen unity between all local high schools, and the community. Applications can be found at: https://forms.gle/iFToPEetKcRdkQfk9. Returning members are asked to complete the form, also.
All juniors and seniors are invited to the College Fair Field Trip at the State Fairgrounds on October 5th. Students provide their own transportation and are dismissed after third hour. Parent permission slips must be turned in by Friday, and students must be passing their afternoon classes to attend. Juniors - use the green permission slip, Seniors - use the pink permission slip. Permission forms are available in the Guidance Office, room 104.
The 2022 SHS Homecoming Dance is Saturday, October 15th. Doors open at 6:15 and all students must pass through a search and metal detectors to gain entry. If an SHS student is bringing an outside guest, the proper form must be filled out in its entirety and brought to the dance that evening. No exceptions on the form. All guests must have valid picture identification. Forms are yellow and available in the Guidance Office, room 104.
The Chess club will be meeting after school from 3:17 to 4:15 in Mr. Hull’s Room 216 this Friday to play and teach Chess! Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level! We hope to see you there!
Do you like crafts and sewing? Well, Sew Cool Crafters Club is the place for you. The first informational meeting will take place on Monday, October 3rd in room 406, Mrs. Koen's room, from 3:30-4:30. There will be snacks and music provided and we will go over some of the amazing fun things we will be doing throughout the year. Contact Grant Kesler or Kiersten Hutchins if you have any questions. The Springfield High School Girls Tennis Team lost a closely contested meet to Sacred Heart-Griffin High School 5-4 yesterday. In singles, Nischi Korrapati, Myla Shannon and TeTee Jallah claimed victories. The doubles team of Sheelah Ingebrigtsen/Myla Shannon also captured a win. Congratulations on a strong performance!
Congratulations to the girls volleyball team who won their 5th conference game in 8 days by defeating Decatur MacArthur 25-14 25-8.Ruth Becker had 5 kills & 6 digs. Araya Garrison, Lila Ambrose & Caroline Benning had 4 blocks each, Megan Becker had 13 assists & 6 aces. Olivia Gumz had 7 aces. Senators are now 7-1 in conference & 14-6 overall.
