Good morning, Springfield High! Today is September 22, 2022

After school tutoring will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in room 160. After school tutoring will begin on Monday, September 26th. (this part can be dropped after this week)

Students and parents - please check the SHS web site for information regarding our home football games this year at Spartan Field. You can find the rules and policies under the NEWS section.

The Superintendent’s Student Roundtable is now accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year. The group provides a forum for youth to strengthen unity between all local high schools, and the community. Applications can be found at: https://forms.gle/iFToPEetKcRdkQfk9.  Returning members are asked to complete the form, also. 

All juniors and seniors are invited to the College Fair Field Trip at the State Fairgrounds on October 5th. Students provide their own transportation and are dismissed after third hour. Parent permission slips must be turned in by September 30th, and students must be passing their afternoon classes to attend. Juniors - use the green permission slip, Seniors - use the pink permission slip. Permission forms are available in the Guidance Office, room 104.

The 2022 SHS Homecoming Dance is Saturday, October 15th. Doors open at 6:15 and all students must pass through a search and metal detectors to gain entry. If an SHS student is bringing an outside guest, the proper form must be filled out in its entirety and brought to the dance that evening. No exceptions on the form. All guests must have valid picture identification. Forms are yellow and available in the Guidance Office, room 104.

French Club will be having its Back-to-School Party today in Room 268 until 4pm.  Anyone can join French Club—see Madame Boltz with any questions.

Learn more about plants, and brighten up the school at plant club! An Informational meeting will be held next Tuesday, September 27th right after school, in Ms. Reinders’ classroom, room 516. See Vanessa Bommarito or Ms. Reinders if you have any questions.

Last day of city for girls volleyball is tonight! The game is at SHS at 7:30 vs SHG! The theme is USA! Come out and support! 

Attention girl basketball players not involved in a fall sport, we will have our first open gym on Monday after school in the Main Gym until 5:00. Any questions, please see Coach Scheffler.

The boys golf team finished 2nd at the CS8 tournament yesterday.  SHS had a team score of 299 while SHG finished with a 295.  Peyton Woods carded a 72.  James Oh added a 73. Jake Baldin fired a 76 and Bryce Pound added a 78.  Peyton, James and Jake all earned all conference for the CS8.  

Congratulations to the girls varsity volleyball team for beating SE in the 2nd day of the city tournament 25-18 25-12. The Senators were lead by Ruth Becker with 9 kills &10 digs. Megan Becker had 6 blocks, 16 assists & 4 aces. We play SHG tonight for the city championship. We hope you will all come out to support this amazing team.

There will be solon signature meeting today after school in Mrs. Eaton’s room 366.
