Students and parents - please check the SHS web site for information regarding our home football games this year at Spartan Field. You can find the rules and policies under the NEWS section.

The Superintendent’s Student Roundtable is now accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year. The group provides a forum for youth to strengthen unity between all local high schools, and the community. Applications can be found at: https://forms.gle/iFToPEetKcRdkQfk9.  Returning members are asked to complete the form, also. 

All juniors and seniors are invited to the College Fair Field Trip at the State Fairgrounds on October 5th. Students provide their own transportation and are dismissed after third hour. Parent permission slips must be turned in by September 30th, and students must be passing their afternoon classes to attend. Juniors - use the green permission slip, Seniors - use the pink permission slip. Permission forms are available in the Guidance Office, room 104.

The 2022 SHS Homecoming Dance is Saturday, October 15th. Doors open at 6:15 and all students must pass through a search and metal detectors to gain entry. If an SHS student is bringing an outside guest, the proper form must be filled out in its entirety and brought to the dance that evening. No exceptions on the form. All guests must have valid picture identification. Forms are yellow and available in the Guidance Office, room 104.

Reminder there is an informational meeting for the summer 2024 Central Europe trip tomorrow Wednesday night at 6:30 in the library.

French Club will be having its Back-to-School Party on Thursday in Room 268 until 4pm.  Anyone can join French Club—see Madame Boltz with any questions.

Attention Sophomores!!! If you did not receive a Jostens Ring Design Kit in the mail, stop by the guidance office to pick one up. Jostens will be in the commons today until 12:45 pm and will return on Wednesday, September 21st from 7:50 am-8:20 am during this time, Jostens will collect your class ring order forms and down payments.  

After school tutoring will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in room 160. After school tutoring will begin on Monday, September 26th. (this part can be dropped after this week)

For anyone interested in boys tennis, there will be an open court on Wednesday from 2:30p-4p at Washington Park.

The Springfield High School Girls Tennis Team competed against Quincy Senior High School with Nischi Korrapati and Sheelah Ingebrigtsen emerging victorious in singles.  Good luck to the girls team as they face Rochester High School today.

The JV football team got a touchdown from DJ Anderson with :11 to go to beat U-High 30-22 last night. Brody Scheffler dropped four dimes on TD passes, two to Kale Thurman, both of at least 50 yards, one to Micah Bonansinga, and the final one to DJ Anderson. Marell "Money" Thomas came away with an interception and Richard Stults was able to secure a recovered fumble to help the Senators to victory.

If you want to make a difference for your community, consider joining the Habitat for Humanity club. There will be an official training session after school this Wednesday in Mr Lightfoot's room, room 330. The training will last around an hour and is required if you want to volunteer.

The boys golf team defeated Chatham last night at PIper Glen.  The format was a two man scramble.  Jake Baldin and Bryce Pound earned medalist honors with a 4 under par 32. Peyton Woods and Jake Jenkins added a 3 under par 33.  Julian Valenti and James Oh carded a 1 under par 35.
