  • Students, if you need help with your classwork or homework, After School Tutoring is held in Room 266 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.


  • Students, don’t forget: The Peace Room is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30-2pm to any student needing support and a safe space to assist with mental health concerns. Check your Canvas to sign up or ask Mrs. Coley!


  • ¡Atención! Spanish Club will be meeting at Xochimilco on March 27th at 5 pm! If you are interested in attending, talk to Señor Reichert in Room 260 and pay the $5 deposit, which will be reimbursed. Spots are limited, so it will be on a first-come, first-served basis!


  • The Seal of Biliteracy exam will be administered in the library the morning of Tuesday, March 25.  Students who registered to take the exam should report to the library at 8:24.


  • Interested in a job for the summer or beyond? A Youth Career Fair will be held by the district and local employers the afternoon of March 25 at the Crowne Plaza. Some employers hired students on the spot last year, others left with applications in! Permission slips are available in Guidance Office and in Mr. Kramer's Office in 153A. Check Canvas for more info and details or see Mr. Kramer.


  • Jostens will deliver graduation announcements and tankards during A and B lunch on Thursday, March 27th and before school on Friday, March 28th.


  • The Springfield Public Schools’ Board of Education invites interested incoming high school seniors to apply to become the 2025-2026 Student Representative to the Board of Education. One incoming senior will be chosen to serve as the Student Representative during the upcoming school year. Additional information and the application can be found at https://forms.gle/uh11bMgfhLWwbj3E9. The submission deadline is 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. 


  • Attention future Senators: On Wednesday, March 26th, SHS is hosting our Spring Activities Night. This is for 8th graders and their parents to visit us in the Commons from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Meet coaches, sponsors and staff and learn about options for sports, clubs and activities next year. Sign up for summer info or workouts!


  • Try out for the 2025-26 Scarlet Line Dance Team! There is a mandatory parent informational meeting on Wednesday, April 2nd at 5:00 p.m. in Commons. The try-outs are April 7 and April 8 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the SHS gym. Pick up a packet in the main office or find more info on the Scarlet Line social media page. 


  • Anyone interested in playing volleyball next season, there will be a short meeting after school @ 2:30 Wednesday March 26th in the cafeteria.

There will be a sign up & summer schedules will be handed out.

  • Congratulations to Elijah Wade for being named Honorable Mention All State. Elijah was also selected to the Central State 8 All Conference team.

Congratulations to Noah Wade and Elijah Wade for being named Central State 8 All Conference. Valor Komolafe made Honorable Mention All Conference Central State 8 as well.

  • Attention anyone interested in becoming a Springfield High School Cheerleader for the 2025-2026 school year: There will be a mandatory informational meeting on Tuesday, April 1st at 5:30 pm in the SHS commons. Interested candidates should attend with a parent or guardian. Tryout packets are available in the main office. Please contact Coach Walls with any questions. 


  • Congratulations to the Scholastic Bowl their 5th place win at state this weekend. Next up Nationals in May. Great season to all.

GSA will meet after school Friday in Mrs. Eaton’s room 366,m we hope to come up with a design for Pride shirts.


  • The Springfield softball team kicked off the 2025 season with 2 wins last week to start the season 2 and 0. On Monday, the girls beat Decatur St. Teresa 12 to 1 and on Thursday beat New Berlin 5 to 0. Mia Volpert struck out 32 total batters in 2 games while allowing just 3 hits. In the first game, Emma Marcum went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's and Volpert also went 2 for 4 with 4 runs scored. In the second game, Erin Stoops led the way with 3 hits, including 2 doubles and 3 RBI's. Good job, ladies! 


  • The baseball team had a decent start to their season winning 2 of their 3 games over break by the scores of 9 to 2 over New Berlin and 9 to 4 against Southeast, but absorbing their first loss 9 to nothing on Saturday versus Litchfield. Zach Graham paced the offense for the week with 4 hits, while Tyler Elliott, Brody Scheffler, and A.J. Ozier added 3 apiece with all 3 of A.J.’s being doubles. Nice pitching performances were turned in by the same three along with a solid start against Southeast by Karter Marks. Jeffrey Sturm and Tyler Elliott picked up wins on the mound in relief. Next up is Dunlap at their place today at 4:30.
