• Since it’s Self-Care month, every Wednesday in February, BAS will have a table set up in the commons with information, freebies and activities to promote wellness. If you visit our table, you can enter to win prizes such as free week passes to the YMCA and a 1 year membership to Planet Fitness. Please come see us in the commons during lunch tomorrow!




Spring musical practice is canceled for tonight, Feb 6th.


  • Students, if you need help with your classwork or homework, After School Tutoring is held in Room 266 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.


  • Students, don’t forget: The Peace Room is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30-2pm to any student needing support and a safe space to assist with mental health concerns. Check your Canvas to sign up or ask Mrs. Coley!


  • National Honor Society is ready to admit new members for the spring of 2025. Current 11th and 12th graders, who are not currently members of NHS, can apply. A list of eligible applicants is posted on Canvas, outside the Main Office, and outside rooms 153A and 356. Applications can be picked up with Mr. Kramer in 153A and will be due Thursday, Feb. 20. Any questions see Mrs. Taft or Mr. Kramer. 


  • Seniors it is the time of year where local scholarships become available. Be sure to constantly check the Class of 25 Canvas page for more opportunities. The Community Foundation for Land of Lincoln has 23 scholarships available to SHS students. Highlighted this week are four for students who demonstrate financial need. Check announcements and scholarship tab for all opportunities! 


  • Seniors, FAFSA is now fully open! FAFSA is a graduation requirement and the application or the waiver must be completed prior to graduation. Check Canvas announcements for more info.  See Mr. Kramer with questions. 


  • Flower sales are here! Yearbook is selling Valentine's Day carnations for $2 each (or five for $10) during both lunch shifts. Send a flower to a friend, crush, or teacher to show you care. Flowers will be delivered during 2nd hour on Feb. 14. Don't forget to bring your money, and thanks for supporting yearbook!


  • Students participating in the Shakespeare field trip on Thursday will meet in the front of the building on Lewis before 6:30 am. Bus will leave at 6:30. Get Remind code from English teacher.

  • The class of 2027 will be selling candy grams during both lunch shifts this Thursday(today) and Friday. Send a candy gram to your friends or teachers for only $1! Candy grams will be distributed during 2nd hour on Valentine's Day.

We're dedicated to building a community where diversity is celebrated and everyone's voice matters. This meeting we will be planning for Black History Month celebrations.   • Come dance the night away with your friends at the Sadie Hawkins Dance this Saturday night at 7:00 pm in the Commons!  Enter from the front of the building at the Science Wing.  Guest forms are available in the Guidance Office. Cost is $10 per person payable at the door. Bring an ID. Any questions ask Mr. Kramer or your guidance person.

  • Saturday, February 8th is the annual Sadie Hawkin’s Dance from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. All SHS students are welcome to attend. All school rules apply, including search upon entry, and entry doors close at 7:45 p.m. Any student bringing a non-SHS guest must turn in the signed, completed guest form by Thursday, February 6th at 3:30 p.m. to the guidance office. Forms are available in the guidance office for pick up, and late guest dance forms are not accepted. Dance tickets are $10 each and available at the door that night. Students should enter through the science wing off Lewis Street.


  • Attention Baseball Players- There will be a short organizational meeting for those planning to try out for JV or varsity baseball this Thursday right after school in Coach Dorr's room, room 326. The meeting should last about 10 minutes. Please see Coach Dorr if you cannot attend or have any questions.

  • Long time, no see fellow readers! Our next book club meeting will be this Thursday, February 6, in Ms. Negele’s room from 3:30-4:15. We will be discussing our January book: The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson. Everybody is welcome and we hope to see you there!
