Good morning, Springfield High!  Today is _____Nov. 12th___________________



  • Senators show gratitude towards others by saying thank you.   You learned these “magic words” as young children, but no matter what your age, these words are effortless to say and have a powerful ability to create positive interactions with others.  Make sure you say thank you at every opportunity and don’t forget those simple courtesies that come your way such as when someone compliments you or holds the door for you. Thank you for Being A Senator!


  • “Students if you need help with your class work or homework, After School Tutoring is held in Room 220 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m."


  • Students, don’t forget: The Peace Room is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30-2pm to any student needing support and a safe space to assist with mental health concerns. Check your Canvas to sign up or ask Mrs. Coley!



  • Anyone interested in being in the spring musical please come to the student/parent meeting on Tuesday, November 12th at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium. You will have a chance to meet the staff. Musical synopsis and character descriptions will be available as well as song and reading cuts for auditions. Dates will be given for auditions, call-backs, cast meeting, read-through, and first rehearsal. There will be time for Q & A



  • Attention to any student interested in traveling to Greece and Rome this summer.  We are trying to finalize our list of travelers and have only one spot remaining that will be on a first come first serve basis.  Time is running out, this is your final chance to experience an amazing part of the world and its rich history.  If interested, please see Mr. Telger in room 312 for information about the trip, or you can email him at rtelger@sps186.org.


  • Attention anyone who loves to crochet! Crochet Club will meet after school TODAY in room 356 at 3:30. If you can't attend, but would still like to be involved at some point, email or see Mrs. Taft. 


  • The Creative Writing Club is meeting in Mr. Chamberlain's room, room 364, after school today until 4:30. All are welcome!


  • Freshman Boys Basketball Try Outs will be Wednesday November 13th 6pm to 730pm. 

  • JV Boys Basketball Try Outs will be Wednesday November 13th 730pm to 9pm

  • Varsity Boys Basketball Try Outs will be Thursday November 14th 6pm to 745pm 



  • Any girl interested in playing softball in the Spring, please go to room WW6 in the Washington Wing to fill out an interest form. See Coach Koger in WW6 with any questions. 


  • A short 5-10 min fall play crew meeting will be after school Thursday night Mrs. Eaton’s room. If you can’t make it check with Chelsea Decock or Mrs. Eaton.


  • The volleyball banquet will be Monday November 18th at 6:15.

  • The girls swimming and diving team finished their season with a fourth place finish at sectionals.  Reese Jennings earned medalist honors with a fifth place finish in diving.  Mary O’Brien, Lila Martin, Chloe Scheffler and Abby Myers also earned medals with a fourth place finish in the 200 freestyle relay and a fifth place finish in the 400 freestyle relay.  Congratulations on a great season!  A special thank you to our seniors, Reese and Mary for your contributions to the team!  


Please turn bags in to Mrs. Myers along with banquet reservations by Thursday.


  • Attention all athletes not involved in a winter sport. If you plan on competing for the boys and girls track and field teams this spring, there will be a short informational meeting for winter workouts on Thursday at 3:25 in Mr Deatherage’s room WW1 with Coach Cotner. Distance athletes please plan to stay until 3:40. If you have any questions please see Coach Cotner.
