Good morning, Springfield High!  Today is _____Oct 16th___________________

  • Great news for any student still wanting to travel to Greece and Rome this summer.  We recently had two spots open up for our trip, and these two spots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.   This is a great opportunity to travel in the summer of 2025 and see a few of the true gems in the world today.  Once these two spots are filled, the trip will be closed for good.  If interested, see Mr. Telger in room 312 for information about the trip.  Don’t wait on this opportunity, these two spots will fill up quickly.

  • Last call for travelers to Europe during the summer of 2026. The early traveler discount expires Friday 10/18. Ask Mrs. Eaton or Mrs. Emery about the itinerary or other questions. Don’t miss out on the discount!

  • Senators show kindness through their words. Whether it’s giving compliments, saying thank you or sending a kind note, your words have power to brighten someone's day.    To go along with this, Be A Senator Club is bringing back Kind Cards this month. Ask your English teacher for one and write something kind to a student or staff member. You can turn these into the Kind Card box in Guidance and BAS will deliver for you.

  • $5 SHS t-shirts will be for sale during lunch shifts in the commons next week. Please bring cash. We do not accept cash app or venmo.

  • Students if you need help with your class work or homework, After School Tutoring is held in Room 220 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The team compete this Saturday in the central state eight conference championship at Lincoln Park. Girls race at 10:00 and boys at 11:00.

  • The Springfield High School Girls Tennis Team placed sixth at the CS-8 Conference Tournament this past weekend.  The team was represented by Sophia Bommarito and Zoey Thongsithavong at singles and the teams of Myla Shannon/Madisyn Williams and Valentina Osgood/Hayden Thongsithavong at doubles.  The doubles team of Myla Shannon/Madisyn Williams captured a sixth place finish, while Sophia Bommarito and Zoey Thongsithavong each claimed two victories at singles.  Congratulations on a strong showing in the CS-8 Conference this season!

  • The varsity soccer team defeated Rochester 4-0. Parker Hinds, Bruno Rosas, Evan Carrell and August Bilyeu scored for the Senators. Faron Harmony, Sam Reyes and Bryce Roman picked up assists. Gavin Tyler was outstanding in goal to earn the shut-out. Berk Oyzurt, Mayango Jallah, Bryce Roman August Bilyeu, Liam Doyle, Jaylan Stotts, Kia Rinaberger and JP Pagliara were excellent on defense.

They JV team defeated Rochester 2-0 Victor Rosas and Cesar Velasquez scored for the Senators. Ahem Tareb earned the shut-out

  • The Senators struggled to put a full drive together in the first half and were trailing 13-0 at the break. Then the Noah Wade show arrived. Wade caught an Andrew Benning touchdown pass to get the score to 13-7. SHG added a score before Wade caught another to make the game 19-14 with just over 3:00 to go. The Senators caused their third fumble of the game and recovered with just over 2:30 to play. Wade again caught a Benning throw, this time in the back of the endzone to give the Senators a 20-19. The defense did their job as the Cyclones were ruled out of bounds on a potential winning play as time expired. Carter Kim, Ed Horton, and Oliver Scheuppel all cause fumbles on the day and Elijah Taylor, Kim, and Jacob Greco secured those fumbles to give the ball back to SHS. The Senators are now 5-1 on the season.
