Homecoming spirit week has begun! Today is Decades Day where freshmen are the 60’s, sophomores are the 70’s, juniors are the 80’s, and seniors are the 90’s. Finally, on Friday, the theme is Color Day: freshmen wear groutfit, sophomores wear red, juniors wear black, and seniors wear their togas! I can't wait to see everyone's outfits.
SolonFever was alive and spreading in the new gym last night at Solon Olympics. Juniors took home victories in volleyball and pyramid building to set the tone and never let that lead go! The freshmen were able to yank the competition at tug of war and claim the last competition of the evening. The seniors and freshmen came in second. But it was the Junior class that stayed in their winning era and strolled out with the victory. Do we all wish we were juniors? They are two for two on wins this week.
With the Solon Olympics points added in the juniors have now taken a four point lead in the Solon Cup. This year the winning class of the Solon Cup gets a free popcorn or slushie next week at lunch and bragging rights until City tournament. Seniors, are you going to catch them? Sophomores, you had the lead until your 4th place finish last night. Freshmen, you are right in stride with the seniors. Lunch games, pep assembly, hallway, and a few more chances remain to gain points. ITS THE SOLON CUP!
Any student who will be 18 years old on or before November 5th can register to vote here at school on October 1st, 2nd, 4th and 7th. If you’d like to register on your lunch hour, look for the registration table set up and make sure you bring two forms of identification to show when you sign up.
