PSAT/NMSQT signup is now available for 9th-11th graders. The PSAT/NMSQT is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for juniors. While 9th and 10th graders may sign up, scores will not be counted for the scholarship. The due date to sign up is September 13th. The cost of this test is $18 and cash or checks must be paid in the Guidance Office by Sept 13th. The test will be administered in the morning of October 25th at SHS. Any questions? "Senior Class Apparel is out now! Flyers will be handed out in your English Class this week. Please turn in cash or checks to Mrs. Emery in room 354 or Mrs. Taft in room 356. Forms are due Friday, Sept. 13th. See the class Canvas page for color images and forms as well!

The Senator’s volleyball team had a great match against a very good non conference Triad team.
The girls defeated Triad 25-14 25-19.
It was the best team effort of the year.
Lucy Ambrose had 6 aces, Rachel Becker had 11 kills, Madison Clark 12 assists & 4 aces & Ainsley Lambert lead the defense with 9 digs.
The Senators will compete in the Jacksonville tournament this weekend
The boys golf team came up with a huge upset on Wed. 9/11 at Lincoln Greens. The boys took on the Titans who were undefeated all of last year and into this season. The Senators defeated the Titans by 1 stroke and SHG by 17 strokes. James Maeda and Trevor Hoffman both carded 39's. Jacob Jenkins added a 40 and Carter Beck finished with a 41. Congrats guys on the huge WIN!
The JV Boys golf team defeated Rochester last night by 47 last night. Cohen Teague led the way with a 47. Spencer Wieneke shot a 48. Jack Rogers carded a 49 and Liam Watts finished with a 52
The Springfield High School Girls Tennis Team claimed a 5-4 victory over Lincoln Community High School yesterday. In singles action, Sophia Bommarito, Josie Ehmen, Eva Abraham and Brooke Lyons were victorious. While at doubles, the team of Olivia Mandeville/Cindy Pham won.
In Junior Varsity play, the doubles teams of Abigail Eldridge/Lillian Bryjka, Ithri Aissa/Elizabeth Minch, Rylee Winton/Zoraya Simeon-Wyatt and Gabriella Urbina/Irene Costa won.
Great job by everyone!
The Lady Senator golf team swept a quadrangular meet in Lincoln last night. Leading SHS was medalist Meher Garg with a 44, Abygail Woudenberg with a 47 and Sophia Cathers chipped in a 48. Next up for SHS is another quadrangular meet in Petersburg on Tuesday.
The varsity soccer team defeated Jacksonville 3-0 last night. Gavin Oyler, Evan Carrell and August Bilyeu scored for the Senators. Liam Doyle, Faron Harmony and Evan Carrell pick up assists. Jeffrey Sturm earned the shut-out. Kai Rinaberger, Bryce Roman and Liam Doyle had excellent defensive performances.
The Sophomore team fell 1-0.
Scholastic bowl will begin practices Tuesday Sept 17 in room 366 directly afterschool until 5:00. If you are unable to attend please let Mrs. Eaton or Ethan Baima know. We are looking forward to a brilliant season.
Students, we have had great attendance at our first home football games. But, we want to remind you of the code of conduct. The Code of Conduct and the guidelines of the student handbook apply to all students while on District 186 property, adjacent property or engaged in school-sponsored activities. Any misconduct before, during or after the game will be handled by the administration at the student’s school and will result in consequences.
Please note that students who are suspended and/or expelled are not permitted to attend school events, including games. If a suspended or expelled student purchases a ticket and is admitted by mistake, they will be required to leave, and no refunds will be issued.
All spectators are expected to remain seated during games. Anyone found standing or roaming for an extended period of time will be asked to sit in the stands, failure to comply will result in being removed from the stadium.
Also failing to abide by the football stadium expectations may result in you being escorted from the stadium. If you are escorted from the stadium you will not be allowed to return to future games.
No unaccompanied minors will be allowed entry into games. All K-8th grade students should be with an adult who is responsible for their actions and monitors their movement during the games. They should be sitting watching the games and limit walking around unless using the restroom or visiting the concession stand. Students can not attend without an adult - they will not be allowed entry.
Football games will conclude around 9:15 p.m., announcements will be made for students to call for their ride at the start of 4th quarter at every game. Please make sure your ride, if needed, is at the stadium to pick you up at that time.
We want to cheer on our teams, have great District 186 spirit and have a good time. Thank you for assisting the Administration and the Springfield Police Department in this manner.
