  • The academic center is available during both lunch shifts.  

  • Two upcoming field trips - permission slips are due this week!

Nursing and healthcare interested student, a group will be going to UIS to tour their Nursing and Healthcare career center NOW on Sept. 18th. One day later than originally planned. 

Second, LLCC will host their workplace expo and lineman rodeo. This event is for those looking to go into the trades or possibly just work immediately after high school. Groups will be there with hiring information and opportunities.

  • PSAT/NMSQT signup is now available for 9th-11th graders.  The PSAT/NMSQT is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for juniors.  While 9th and 10th graders may sign up, scores will not be counted for the scholarship.   The due date to sign up is September 13th.  The cost of this test is $18 and cash or checks must be paid in the Guidance Office by Sept 13th.  The test will be administered in the morning of October 25th at SHS.  Any questions?   • Please join GSA on Friday after school in room 364 Mr. Chamberlain’s room for its first meeting of the year. All are welcome.


  • Attention all future teachers - The SHS Future Teachers Club will be holding our information meeting on Monday, Sept. 9 after school from 3:30-4:00 in room 370. All interested in the field of education are welcome to join us! Any questions contact Mrs. Roan or Caiden Bietsch.

  • Hallo zusammen! The SHS Deutschklub will be having its first meeting, the Gummy Bear Olympics, Thursday, September 12th, in room 250. There will be gummy bears, German music, and lots of fun! Make sure to bring $5 to join. If you have any questions, stop by room 250. 


  • Are you interested in building community amongst the high schools and developing your leadership skills? Do you want to contribute to being a voice for students? Then the Superintendent’s Student Roundtable may be for you! The Roundtable is open to all high school students in District 186. Come to our first monthly meeting next Wednesday, September 11, from 3-4pm in the PD Room of the Administrative Center, 3063 Fiat Ave. to learn more! 


  • The Lady Senators volleyball team won their non conference match at Peoria High, 25-11 25-8

Rachel Becker lead the team with 10 kills

Madison Clark & Franny VonDeBur combined for 18 assists.

Lucy Ambrose had 6 Aces.

Volleyball returns home for games next Tuesday & Thursday

  • Freshmen, if you are interested in running for student council or class officer you MUST pick up a packet outside the Guidance office during your lunch shift.
