Bryce Bryant also had a rushing touchdown, while Brody Scheffler and Jaiyden Wilson hooked up for a score through the air. Jeffrey Sturm was a perfect 5/5 on extra points, and also added a 36 yard field goal. Defensively, Tez Williams and Jaiyden Wilson both had interceptions, while D.J. Anderson blocked a punt. The Solons are back in action when they travel to Decatur to take on MacArthur this Friday night.

Be A Senator Club will be having its first meeting on Wednesday after school in the cafeteria. BAS strives to promote a positive atmosphere at SHS with things like Senator Cash, Shout Outs and a monthly character focus. Which by the way, for September, our monthly focus is Respect. Senators show respect by obeying the rules at school. Do this by putting away those cell phones, being to class on time and following classroom expectations.
If you would like to be a part of BAS, see you Wednesday, all are welcome to attend!
Ed Horton scored from 20 yards out to put the Senators up 6-0 on their first possession and they never looked back. Jack Wright was all over the field with a fumble recovery during the game and a touchdown catch that put SHS up 13-0. Kam Parson, Jacob Greco, and Carter Kim pulled in interceptions to slow Champaign’s offense. The Senator defense forced 5 total turnovers with Seth Smysor securing the other fumble. Noah Puckett helped put the game out of reach in the 4th quarter with a 15 yard TD catch that gave the Senators the final lead of 20-0.
And now the Pledge of Allegiance!
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
