Good morning, Springfield High!  Today is April 18, 2024

Attendance Office Phone Number - 525-3111

Students, If you're not feeling well during school hours, please visit the nurse's office instead of texting your parent directly to go home. Our nurse will then assess your condition and contact your parent for you. Reminder that phones are not allowed during class time. Not following this procedure creates a disruption for many offices as well as adults in the building. Thanks for following the procedure that is in place and helping to keep the school running smoothly!

The baseball team won a fun one over their Washington Street rivals, defeating SHG 2 to nothing behind a stellar complete game shutout performance from Seth Impson on the mound. Impson struck out 7, walked one, and allowed only 4 hits on the day.  Enrico Veach got the ball rolling with a lead-off single to start off the bottom of the first, and Carter Kruse drove him home with a clutch double. Kruse paced the offense with 2 hits, as the defense did their job with a huge double play in the 5th from Veach to Brody Scheffler to Sam Hartl to get Impson out of a bases loaded, one out jam. Next up is a strong East Peoria team on Saturday with a doubleheader at their place starting at 10.

The Senator softball team picked up a big conference win over SHG last night 2 to 0 to move to 11 and 3 and 6 and 1 in conference. Mia Volpert had a strong performance in the circle, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 16. Volpert led the offense with 2 hits, while Lydia Cliburn got the offense going with great bunt in the 3rd inning. The defense stepped up when the chances presented themselves and Kendall Knauer had a great game behind the plate. Good win, ladies!

Last night, Student Council held their President elections for the 24-25 school year and a major CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Brooke Lyons who was elected to serve as student body President!

And now the Pledge of Allegiance!
