Good morning, Springfield High!  Today is April 9, 2024

Attendance Office Phone Number - 525-3111

Students, If you're not feeling well during school hours, please visit the nurse's office instead of texting your parent directly to go home. Our nurse will then assess your condition and contact your parent for you. Reminder that phones are not allowed during class time. Not following this procedure creates a disruption for many offices as well as adults in the building. Thanks for following the procedure that is in place and helping to keep the school running smoothly!

Students who ride the CACC morning bus.  The buses will be leaving the school at 8:05 am every morning starting yesterday.  Don’t be late getting on your bus.

After School Tutoring is held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week in room 160 from 3:30 pm-4:30 pm

Lunchtime tutoring is available for any student on either lunch shift in room 124.

If you park on or near SHS property - LOCK YOUR CARS AT ALL TIMES. Do not leave your doors unlocked or windows down no matter what! Be safe, be smart and be aware!

The Digital SAT & PSAT will be administered at SHS on Wednesday, April 10th. SHS will also administer the Panorama Survey to students next week. The Panorama Survey asks students about their opinions on Social Emotional Learning and the school environment. We use that data to guide school supports and goals. Parents can find more information about the Panorama Survey on the SHS web site, under Menu, then Quicklinks.

All students who test on April 10th MUST bring their charged school issued Chromebook and the charging cord. Students who test on April 10th have the option of bringing an SAT approved calculator, a pen or pencil, a small snack if they choose, and bottled water.

The Springfield Public Schools’ Board of Education invites interested incoming high school seniors to apply to become the 2024-2025 Student Representative to the Board of Education. Additional information and the application can be found at: https://forms.gle/DYbz7XsAiTuPEUd3A. The deadline submission is 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

This is a great opportunity to represent all students in our school district. Please let me know if you have additional questions or need more information.

Interested in a job for the summer or beyond? A Youth Career Fair will be held by the district and local employers the afternoon of April 23 at the Crowne Plaza. Permission slips will be available later in the day/week for students to return before Friday. Any questions, let Mr. Kramer know.

The baseball team had a decent spring break by playing well in 3 of 4 games, despite losing 3 of the 4 to good competition. They lost a pair of games to Belleville East by the scores of 5 to 4 and 9 to 1, then lost to CS8 power U-High on Friday 3 to nothing, but beat Auburn 10 to nothing on Saturday. Ethan Rutter led the way with solid pitching performances both last weekend and Saturday, picking up the win over Auburn. Although the hits were hard to come by, the offense was led by Rutter, Enrico Veach, and Sam Hartl who each had 3 hits apiece. Next up is conference foe Lincoln tomorrow in a 4:30 contest at Robin Roberts Stadium.

And now the Pledge of Allegiance!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
