Students who ride the CACC morning bus.  The buses will be leaving the school at 8:10 am every morning.  Don’t be late getting on your bus.

After School Tutoring is held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week in room 160 from 3:30 pm-4:30 pm

Lunchtime tutoring is available for any student on either lunch shift in room 124.

If you park on or near SHS property - LOCK YOUR CARS AT ALL TIMES. Do not leave your doors unlocked or windows down no matter what! Be safe, be smart and be aware!

Any students in 9th -11th grade who are interested in participating in a sport during the 2024-2025 school year, should find and complete the athletic interest survey on CANVAS.  This will allow coaches to know who is interested in joining a team, and get you information regarding summer programming and weight-lifting.

We are celebrating our Black History Month assembly week with a spirit week! Thursday is Sunday Best - dress ready to impress, and Friday will be The Color Purple. 

Hey seniors! Don't forget to vote for senior superlatives, submit your senior quote, and tell your family and friends to buy a senior ad. See the announcement on your class Canvas page and read the directions carefully on each survey. The deadline for superlatives and quotes is March 1! See Mrs. Roan in 370 with any questions. 

Interested in joining the boys tennis team for the 2023-24 season?  Please plan to attend an introductory team meeting on Monday, February 26 from 3:30-4:30pm in the Auditorium. If you are unable to attend, please contact Coach Ingebrigtsen.

There will be a mandatory meeting for any girl interested in softball directly after school on Thursday in room 112.

Kramer is taking a group to UIS for a college fair and career break out sessions. More info is on Canvas. Forms are in the guidance office and due this Friday!

Congratulations to the Scholastic Bowl varsity team on their first place win at Masonic sectional tournament on Saturday.  This win advances the team to Masonic State March 2.

There is a feminist club meeting today after school until 4:15 pm. Please stop by to help organize women’s history month activities.

There will be no 21st century Friday, February 23rd and Monday, February 26th.

Future Teachers Club will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 27th from 3:30-4:30 in room 370. At this meeting, we will have a special guest speaker. Come learn from an experienced educator in the district. All are welcome - hope to see you there!

Attention Baseball Players- You may pick up next week's tryout and practice schedules for baseball from Coach Dorr in Room 326. You must have a current physical and Athletic Permit card on file in order to try out next Monday. 

African American inventor and women's rights activist Lyda Newman gained notoriety in 1898 for creating a better hairbrush featuring synthetic bristles and an extra compartment for convenient cleaning. Newman was one of the first African American women to get a patent in the US . Newman's invention revolutionized hair care  and inventive industries. Apart from her involvement in the beauty industry, Newman also supported social justice and women's suffrage, utilizing her position to push for equality and minority and female empowerment.

Senior night for SHS hockey is tonight at the Nelson Center. It starts at 7:00 pm.
