Hey Senators! Did you know that excessive phone use can increase stress and anxiety? Higher levels of social media use are also linked to depression, low self-esteem and other adverse effects on mental health. To minimize this, take breaks from your phone throughout the day.  You can do this by turning off notifications, using your phone’s screen time limits or making certain times of the day, like meal times, device-free.

American poet, musician, and author Gil Scott-Heron became legendary for his soulful music and politically charged narrative performances. Heron concentrated on topics like social injustice, racism, and the hardships of urban existence.  His compositions frequently incorporated funk, blues, and jazz aspects to formulate a unique musical palette that struck a chord with audiences all overk the world. Gil Scott-Heron revolutionized spoken word and demanded a voice for those who were marginalized throughout his career. He used his art to criticize the status quo and push for change.
