After School Tutoring is held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week in room 160 from 3:30 pm-4:30 pm

Lunchtime tutoring is available for any student on either lunch shift in room 124.

If you park on or near SHS property - LOCK YOUR CARS AT ALL TIMES. Do not leave your doors unlocked or windows down no matter what! Be safe, be smart and be aware!

It's almost Valentine's Day and the Entrepreneur class is selling Carnation Flowers. You can order at lunch in the commons or there is a link on each class Canvas Page. Each flower is $2. Flowers will be delivered to students during 3rd and 5th hour on February 14. See Mrs. Devlin with questions.

Tomorrow after school there will be a Pen in a Box Club meeting in Mrs. Eaton’s room 

GSA will meet tomorrow after school on Friday in auditorium for yearbook photo and meeting.

There will be an informational softball meeting directly after school today in room 112 for any girl interested in trying out this year. This meeting will last 5 minutes.

Sadie's is coming! Next Saturday, Feb. 17th the junior class and Student Council will host the Sadie's Dance in the Commons from 8-10 pm. All SHS students are invited, guest forms will be available later this week. 

To help celebrate the week we are also going to host our second Solon Olympics! Tuesday night, February 13th from 7-9 pm in the gym the classes will compete for the winter Solon Olympics crown!

Model UN will meet on tomorrow in Mrs. Emery's room until 4:30.

Attention all Plant lovers.  Plant Club is having a Houseplant sale this Friday at the Boys Home Basketball game from 5-7 pm in the Annex.  These plants are perfect for anyone from new plant parents, to seasoned gardeners, and would make great Valentines gifts.  All plants are $10 or $15 and cash only.  See Ms. Reinders in 517 if you have any questions!

Juniors - Mr. Kramer will be taking a group to UIS for the DIGIM College Fair. DIGIM College fair is a pop-culture infused which fair takes on a three-pronged conceptual approach: Cool, Educational & Engaging. Once finished with the browsing fair, students get to choose 2 of 6 How To Become: break out sessions. More info is posted on Canvas. Permission slips are in Guidance and due back by Feb. 23. Renowned Ghanaian sculptor El Anatsui is well-known for his inventive use of materials, especially for his monumental creations composed of abandoned metal items like copper wire, tin cans, and bottle caps. Themes of cultural identity, globalization, and the interaction between Africa and the West are all explored in his work. Anatsui approaches themes of consumerism, colonialism, and environmentalism. His work has been shown all around the world and has won praise from critics with many backgrounds for its intellectual depth and striking visual impact.
