After School Tutoring is held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week in room 160 from 3:30 pm-4:30 pm

Lunchtime tutoring is available for any student on either lunch shift in room 124.

Tonight is Preview Night for 8th graders and their parents - if you are going to SHS next year, meet us in the auditorium at 6 pm to learn about high school classes, meet the staff and tour the building.

The Mayors Youth Council is having a hygiene drive.  Supplies can be given to Josephine Oke or Caitlyn Turner. Supplies needed are deodorant, toothpaste/toothbrushes, brushes/combs, lotion, conditioner/shampoo, body wash, nail clippers, feminine products, floss, bandaids/bandages, hair ties, chapstick, tissue, disinfecting wipes, baby wipes, diapers, baby bottles, and blankets. All donations will go to Fifth Street Renaissance.

CACC will have an Open House on January 25th from 5-7.  This is a great opportunity to tour the labs, meet the teachers, talk with current students, and see if CACC is where you want to be for your Junior and Senior year.

There will be a GSA meeting Friday after school in room 366, Mrs. Eaton.

Students - If you’d like to be a part of Unity Day, sign up at the table outside the Commons on either lunch shift. Unity Day is where high school students get ready for City Tournament and participate in fun games and activities. Unity Day will take place on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Southeast High School from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m

Attention all readers! Springfield High now has a Book Club! If you would like a fun space to chat about your latest reads and discover more books for your shelves, this is the club for you. Our informational meeting is this Thursday, January 11 in Ms. Negele’s room 362 from 3:30 - 4:15 pm. Any questions you have can be answered by Esme Eck, Madelyn Field, or Ms. Negele. Everyone is invited— we hope to see you there! 

City spirit week themes are here! Tuesday it will be Soccer Moms vs BBQ Dads, Wednesday is Different Eras of You (Taylor Swift inspired), Thursday is Superhero’s vs Villians, and Friday is Gamer Day, dress as anything video games! Let’s kick off spirit week right and let’s show out at the BOS Center and keep the spirit award home with SHS.

Attention aspiring educators, the inaugural meeting of the SHS Future Teachers Club will be on Tuesday, Jan. 16 after school in room 370. This club will highlight aspects of education while hearing from teachers and administrators throughout the district. We hope to see you there!

The Lady Senator basketball team won for the 4th time in 5 games and beat Champaign Central 72 to 39. SHS was led in scoring by Keziah Toran with 17 points, Ariana Williams added 15 and Emma Scheffler chipped in 11. Next up for SHS is a home game Thursday against Mt. Zion.
