After School Tutoring is held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week in room 160 from 3:30 pm- 4:30 pm.

Lunchtime tutoring is available for any student on either lunch shift in room 124.

Students, please remember that the football games at Memorial Stadium and Spartan Field are school functions and all behavior guidelines will be enforced at all times during these games. Any inappropriate behavior displayed at these games will result in consequences that will be enforced by the administration of SHS. This includes behavior inside the stadium, as well as adjacent to the facility.

luxefloralspringfield.net is offering SHS special Homecoming corsages for students - if you buy the wrist corsage, the boutineers are free. Luxe Floral will drop off the flowers at SHS on the day before the September 30th Homecoming Dance.

Homecoming tickets will only be sold at the door.  Cost of tickets are $15 each.

Spirit Days for next week:  Wednesday is Barbie and Ken day; Decades on Thursday, and we will finish with color day on Friday! More info can be found on class canvas pages later this week!

The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, September 30th at SHS from 7-9 pm. If you are bringing a guest from another school, homecoming guest forms are available in the guidance office. Remember, all guests must be under 21 and have a picture ID at the door, in addition to having the guest form filled out entirely. Guest forms are due back in the guidance office by Thursday, September 28th at 3:30 p.m.

Attention SHS athletes and students involved in extracurricular activities. Fellowship of Christian Athletes meetings will be starting soon. To help decide when meetings will be, fill out the form from the QR codes posted on the fliers around the school. If you have any questions ask Mr. Lightfoot or Sam Hartl. 

Join fellow SHS students at See You at the Pole on Wednesday, September 27, as we participate in a day of prayer happening at schools worldwide! We will meet at 7:40 before school by the flag pole on the front lawn for a time of prayer and worship! If you have any questions, see Lydia Auble. Hope you can join us and See you at the pole!

The SHS Plant Club will have its first meeting of the year is today and we will meet in Ms. Reinders room, 516, from 3:20-4:20.  Plant club is open to any SHS student that enjoys growing and learning about plants.  Please see or email Ms. Reinders if you have any questions or would like more information.

The Mock SAT and PSAT will be October 4th.  Juniors and seniors, permission slips for mock testing are now available from your English teacher.  Seniors who turn in the permission slip may leave early on October 3rd and take a full service/work/college day on October 4th.  Juniors who turn in the permission slip may leave early on October 4th.  Permission slips are due to Guidance by Friday, September 29th at 3:30, no exceptions.

Feminist Club will meet today after school in Mrs Taft’s room 356. If you can’t make it, please check with Mrs. Taft, Mrs. Eaton, or Gabby Gauvin about tailgate and Breast Cancer awareness walk.

GSA will be Friday until 4 in room 366.

There will be Scholastic Bowl practice tonight at 6:30 in room 366. If you are interested in playing and have not joined the Remind stop by Mrs. Eaton’s room 366.

There will be an informational meeting for anyone NOT already registered for the Central Europe Trip summer of 2024 in the library Wednesday night 6:30 pm, just in time to make Solon Olympics. This will be the last opportunity to join without a price increase. If you can not make the meeting and are interested contact Mrs Eaton or Mrs. Emery.

The girls’ swimming in diving team won a triangular meet with Porta and Jacksonville Route.  Top finishers for the Senators were Lila Martin, 2nd in the 200 Free and 1st in the 100 Fly, Abby Myers 1st in the 200 IM and the 500 Free, Elizabeth Sievers 3rd in the 50 Free and 2nd in the 100 Back, Kate Eichinger 3rd in the 200 Free, Claire Collins 2nd in the 200 IM, Mitchell Venegas 3rd in the 100 Free and Reese Jennings 1st in diving, Mia Heinzel 2nd in diving and Kaylin Harrison 3rd in Diving.  Congratulations Girls!

The Springfield High School Girls Tennis Team played Maroa-Forsyth High School yesterday, coming away with three victories. In singles, Nishi Korrapati and Ester Rossi won while the doubles team of Nishi Korrapati/Ester Rossi also emerged victorious.  In Junior Varsity action, Audrey Delcomyn won at singles while the doubles teams of Nora Jasim/Hayden Thongsitavong, Valentina Osgood/Sophia Bommarito, Caroline Scherschel/Annah Sharp and Katie Benning/Madison Bradley claimed victories.

The JV football team played a thrilling and exciting game that went down to the very last play and were able to come away victorious over SHG 22-20! With the team down two scores, Levi Friedrich put the team on his back and broke through multiple tackles for an 80 yard kickoff return touchdown. The Senators marched right down the field to start the second half and a Brayden Semon TD pass to Declan Brown got the Senators within one score. Armanze Lewis then became the man of the hour, first picking off an SHG pass and then powering in for a TD a few plays later to give SHS the final lead. The Demarion Davis and Zach Graham anchored defense pressured the QB all night and were able to hold within their own 10 with just seconds remaining to secure the victory.
