After School Tutoring is held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week in room 160 from 3:30 pm- 4:30 pm.

Lunchtime tutoring is available for any student on either lunch shift in room 124.

Students, please remember that the football games at Memorial Stadium and Spartan Field are school functions and all behavior guidelines will be enforced at all times during these games. Any inappropriate behavior displayed at these games will result in consequences that will be enforced by the administration of SHS. This includes behavior inside the stadium, as well as adjacent to the facility. 

Students, if you want to purchase single game, season, or year long passes to Springfield High School events, keep your eyes open for Go Fan Ticketing posters in the Commons, Cafeteria and Annex.  You can scan the QR Code, or go to GoFan.com to purchase you SHS tickets today.

It is a perfect Tuesday to watch some Volleyball! It is the first night of Volleyball City and we play against Southeast! The game will be at Southeast High School and try to get there around 6:45! The theme is RED OUT! 
On Friday, we go against the school down the street for football! The game will be at SHG and starts at 7 pm! The theme is Frat! Be there and Be Loud! 
This Saturday, the Cross Country team has their SHS Invite! It is at Lincoln Park and begins at 9:45. The Student Council will have donuts for those who come to support the team! There will also be an opportunity to enter a drawing for Two Free Homecoming Tickets!

Juniors and Seniors - are you interested in healthcare careers? St. John’s College of Nursing in Springfield, Illinois is offering an after school program to teach high school students about nurses and their community. There are 12 Wednesday night sessions spread throughout October, November, December, February, March and April. Sessions will take place at St. John’s simulation Center from  4:30-7:30 p.m. Students must have their own transportation. Dinner is provided on class nights. If you are interested, you must apply. luxefloralspringfield.net is offering SHS special Homecoming corsages for students - if you buy the wrist corsage, the boutineers are free. Luxe Floral will drop off the flowers at SHS on the day before the September 30th Homecoming Dance.

Spirit Days for next week:  Monday will be biker vs surfer, Dress your type Tuesday, Barbie and Ken for Wednesday, Decades on Thursday, and we will finish with color day on Friday! More info can be found on class canvas pages later this week!

The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, September 30th at SHS from 7-9 pm. If you are bringing a guest from another school, homecoming guest forms are available in the guidance office. Remember, all guests must be under 21 and have a picture ID at the door, in addition to having the guest form filled out entirely. Guest forms are due back in the guidance office by Thursday, September 28th at 3:30 p.m.

Hey SHS students! The Chess club will be meeting after school from 3:17 to 4:15 in Mr. Hull’s Room (Room 216) on the first and third Fridays of every month to play and teach Chess! Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level! There will be an informational meeting Friday, September 15th. We hope to see you there! The SHS Plant Club will have its first meeting of the year on Tuesday Sept. 26.  We will meet in Ms. Reinders room, 516, from 3:20-4:20.  Plant club is open to any SHS student that enjoys growing and learning about plants.  Please see or email Ms. Reinders if you have any questions or would like more information. 

The lady Senators volleyball team beat Southeast 25-17 25-19 in the first game of the City Tournament. The Senators were lead by Eva Hamann with 6 kills,9 digs & 10 assists, Alix Bibb had 6 kills& an ace, Madison Clark had 11 assists & an ace, Rachel Becker & Lila Ambrose had 2 blocks apiece, Lily Lambert had 13 digs.  Great job! Game 2 tonight against Lanphier. 

The Springfield High School Girls Tennis Team played Rochester High School yesterday and came away with a convincing 7-2 victory.  At singles, Nishi Korrapati, Ester Rossi, Madisyn Williams and Hayden Thongsithavong claimed victories.  The team swept the doubles competition with the teams of Nishi Korrapati/Ester Rossi, Myla Shannon/Madisyn Williams and Kara Frazier/Maria Anselment winning.  In Junior Varsity action, the doubles teams of Audrey Delcomyn/Shelva Sewavi, Valentina Osgood/Sophia Bommarito, Alexis Snyder/Megan Bullock, Chelsea DeCoke/Jaydn Mangold, Brooke Lyons/Annabelle Harris, Kiersten Hutchins/Makenna Higgins, Bianca Barnes/Caroline Scherschel, Annah Sharp/Brooke Lyons and Shelva Sewavi/Caroline Scherschel claimed victories.  Congratulations and great job girls!

The varsity soccer team defeated Decatur  9-0 last night. Vince Pratt 3, Bruno Rosas, Drew Dejaynes, Byron McNeil, Gavin Oyler, Parker Hines and Alex Hockenyos scored for the Senators. Evan Carrell, Gavin Oyler, Mason Simmons 2, Bruno Rosas, Elliot Fifer, Faron Harmony 2, and Sam Reyes picked up assists. Joe Brudnak earned the shut-out.
