Good morning, Springfield High! Today is May 22, 2023 Students and families: Please know we treat everyone with respect and kindness, and keep this school safe. Any kind of threat and/or unacceptable joke will not be tolerated and will result in school discipline. Please remember to report any form of bullying and ask for help from an adult if you need it. After school tutoring will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30-4:30 pm in room 160.

 

There will be a short informational meeting for those interested in Girls’ Swimming and Diving in room 212 on Tuesday May 23rd at 3:30.

 

Auditions for 7 & Senators will be TODAY at 4:00 pm in the Auditorium. You will need to sing the National Anthem a cappella. We will also teach you part of a song to listen for blend and part singing.

 

Seniors! All approved senior quotes for the yearbook will be posted outside Mrs. Roan's room 370 through Wednesday, May 24. Please stop by and review your quote. We cannot change out any quotes at this point, but we can fix any inaccuracies or grammar issues. E-mail or talk to Mrs. Roan about any changes needed. 

 

Interested in joining the girls tennis team next year for the 2023-24 season?  Please plan to attend an introductory team meeting on Tuesday, May 23 at 3:30pm in the Library. If you are unable to attend, please contact Coach Ingebrigtsen.

Deja Anderson and Linden Neposchlan competed at the 3A state track and field meet this weekend. Deja finished 27th in the 100m dash and 32nd in long jump and Linden finished 16th in pole vault. Congrats on a great season! To our seniors- Deja, Chloe, Payton, Ma’Rya, Linden, Valerie, Angela and Macy, thank you for running with us and good luck on your next journey.

 

There will be a volleyball meeting on Wednesday May 24th after school in the cafeteria for girls who are interested in trying out for next year’s team. Summer schedule & Varsity Camp information will be distributed at the meeting.

 

The baseball team ran into one of the best in defending 4A State Champ Edwardsville on Saturday, as they lost 11 to 1 to the Tigers. Kaden DuVall had the lone hit for SHS, and Cooper Burk scored the only run on a steal of second followed by a steal of third and a throwing error allowing him to cross the plate. The Senators conclude their regular season today with a rematch against Washington Street rivals SHG at their place at 4:30.

 

Congratulations to the Sectional Champion Springfield High School Boys Tennis Team! For the fourth straight year, the team captured the Sectional title led by Noah Williams/David Lu claiming the doubles championship with the doubles team of Bryce Pound/Will Wang taking fourth place.  In singles, Krish Khurana captured third place while James Oh contributed crucial victories to help clinch the team championship.  Congratulations to State qualifiers Will Wang, Bryce Pound, David Lu, Noah Williams and Krish Khurana and congratulations to the 2023 Sectional Champions!
