Good morning, Springfield High! Today is May 15, 2023 Students and families: Please know we treat everyone with respect and kindness, and keep this school safe. Any kind of threat and/or unacceptable joke will not be tolerated and will result in school discipline. Please remember to report any form of bullying and ask for help from an adult if you need it. After school tutoring will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30-4:30 pm in room 160.

There will be a football player/parent meeting today at 6:45 pm in the Commons. Please see Coach Hebb with any questions. The PS5 raffle ticket sales have been extended. Get your tickets from any football player or Coach Hebb or Kramer. Winners will be drawn on May 19th.  Mark your calendar — 7 & Senators auditions will take place on Monday, May 22nd at 4:00 pm in the Auditorium. You will need to sing the National Anthem a cappella. We will also teach you part of a song to listen for blend and part singing. The baseball team picked up another win on Saturday by the score of 10 to 1 over Granite City who had defeated the Senators one month ago. Ethan Rutter gave a gutsy performance on the mound pitching out of 2 jams in consecutive innings. He threw 5 innings, striking out 6 and allowing only 1 run. Tyler Elliott made his varsity debut on the hill closing the final 2 innings with scoreless relief. Sam Hartl, Carter Kruse, Ryne Crum, Cooper Burk, and Enrico Veach all added 2 hits apiece and Seth Impson contributed 2 RBI's to the cause. Next up is Senior Night today at 4:30 at Robin Roberts Stadium against Pawnee.

 

Congratulations to the CS-8 Conference Champion Springfield High School Boys Tennis Team! For the third straight year, the team captured the title led by Krish Khurana claiming the singles championship and Noah Williams/David Lu winning the doubles championship.  The doubles team of Bryce Pound/Will Wang took third place while James Oh contributed crucial victories at singles to help clinch the team championship.  Congratulations to the 2023 CS-8 Conference Champions!

 

There will be a brief meeting in room 128 after school on Thursday for anyone interested in joining the cross country team for the fall. Summer schedules and information regarding the upcoming season will be shared at the meeting. If you cannot attend please see coach Cotner. 

There will be a volleyball meeting on Wednesday May 24th after school in the cafeteria for girls who are interested in trying out for next year’s team. Summer schedule & Varsity Camp information will be distributed at the meeting.

 

Plant club will have their final meeting of the school year this Tuesday, May 16 in Ms. Reinders room 516 from 3:20-4:15.  Please join us if you can!
