Good morning, Springfield High! Today is March 29, 2023

Students - We need each of you to listen to this important announcement.  We want our school to be safe.  We want our school to be a place that is fight free and a place where any form of bullying is not allowed.  We want you to feel safe on your social media and in person at school.  We need you to be respectful. Ask for help from an adult if you need help, and NEVER choose physical violence as a way to solve your problems. If you see something that doesn’t sound or seem right - tell someone right away. The students and adults that attend and work in this school deserve to be safe at all times.  Fighting will not be tolerated and we will utilize consequences if you make the choice to bully students in person or on-line or if you choose to fight at school. Help make District 186 a place where everyone is proud to work and learn.

After school tutoring will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30-4:30 pm in room 160.

This week's Wellness Wednesday tip is brought to you by The Peace Room: Take Deep Breaths - Breathing helps more oxygen travel to all your organs and tissues. Your body obviously does this naturally. But sometimes you need a moment to really slow down and just rejuvenate your body and mind. Try to take 10 minutes of deep breaths daily.

Bocce Ball referees needed. Information is posted outside Mrs. Devlin's office room 121.

The Senator softball team came out ready to play and picked up their 4th win in a row to start the season with an 8 to zero win over SHG. Mia Volpert allowed only 2 hits and struck out 18 in route to the victory. She also hit a solo home run. Liah Oneill, Emma Scheffler, Bella Pagliara and Erin Stoops all had hits as well. Good win ladies!

The baseball team won round one of the Washington Street battle last night by a score of 10 to 4 over SHG. Seth Impson pitched 5 solid innings allowing no earned runs with 8 strikeouts, and Christopher Leming finished the job on the mound over the last 2 innings striking out 4. The offense had a good day led by Griffin Burk with 3 hits and 4 RBI's, and was closely followed by 2 hits apiece from Impson, Ryne Crum, James Jenkins, and Rico Veach. Cooper Burk added a long solo home run to seal the deal. Next up is the rematch today at 4:30 at Robin Roberts Stadium.

And now the Pledge of Allegiance!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
