Good morning, Springfield High! Today is March 16, 2023

Students - We need each of you to listen to this important announcement.  We want our school to be safe.  We want our school to be a place that is fight free and a place where any form of bullying is not allowed.  We want you to feel safe on your social media and in person at school.  We need you to be respectful. Ask for help from an adult if you need help, and NEVER choose physical violence as a way to solve your problems. If you see something that doesn’t sound or seem right - tell someone right away. The students and adults that attend and work in this school deserve to be safe at all times.  Fighting will not be tolerated and we will utilize consequences if you make the choice to bully students in person or on-line or if you choose to fight at school. Help make District 186 a place where everyone is proud to work and learn.

After school tutoring will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30-4:30 pm in room 160.

The Senator softball team picked up a win in their first game of the season last night—a 10-0 victory over New Berlin. Mia Volpert led the way going 4 for 4 with 2 RBI’s, as well as pitching a no hit shut-out. Emma Scheffler had 2 hits and 3 RBI’s to contribute in a big way! Kendall Knauer, Erin Stoops and Emma Marcum all had hits as well. Great job ladies!

The girls track & field team competed at the Lady Wildcat Indoor Invitational yesterday. Top finishers for SHS were: Deja Anderson 1st in the 60m dash and 4th in long jump, Linden Neposchlan 4th in pole vault. The JV 4x8- Reaghan, Kayden, Abby and Makenna placed 5th. The JV 4x2- Legacy, Meredith, Katie and Adyson also placed 5th and the JV 4x4- Meredith, Legacy, Katie and Keziah placed 3rd.

The baseball team opened their season with a tough 6 to nothing loss against a strong opponent in Belleville East. Overall, the Senators did a lot of things right they can use to build on for the CS8 season that starts next week. Seth Impson started on the mound and threw a solid 3 innings of shutout ball, striking out 3, walking no one, and allowing only one hit. Other highlights included a Griffin Burk double and a Ryne Crum single. Next up is conference foe Jacksonville next Tuesday at their place.

If you would like to be included in the GSA yearbook photo stop by Mrs Eaton’s room Friday after school for a quick photo.

And now the Pledge of Allegiance!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
