Good Morning Southeast students and staff, Friday, November 4th, 2022  and I am Allysse Lewis. Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL, they follow classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning throughout the building.

Thursday’s Attendance percentage was 

 Shout out Friday! 

*Mrs. Walls  would like to send a shout out to ASE’ Black History Group for participating in a community service project at Harvard Park School yesterday. Great Job guys!!!

*Mr. Calderon would like to shout out for Addelyn Shawver for earning top five scorer honors this season in our CISL scholastic bowl league.

*Mrs. Jones would like to shout out to Mrs. Latif for being a champion of rhetoric and selflessly helping the English department. Shoutout to Darrell White for being a great student in the English classroom. He is helpful, kind, and works so diligently!  And Shoutout to Mrs. Thompson the librarian for creating such a fun environment and for knowing the best books ever!

*Mrs.Beenega would like to shout out our cafeteria staff. They are awesome...they know the kids by name, greet them with a smile and kindness, they even give out hugs! It’s clear our students appreciate them and their positive attitudes very much!

 

*Ms. Thompson would like to shout out  Felicia Blackmon who won the Library Award from the raffle but used it instead to take care of her sister's textbook fine before Sparkle graduates this year!  What a kind and selfless act! :)

*Mrs. Hennefent would also like to shout out Ms. Thompson our new librarian! She is doing an amazing job, and it’s wonderful to see students enjoying our library again!                                                          

 

*Ms. Farrar Shout out to Mr. Hunt for teaching Latin. 

                                             

There is NO SCHOOL Tuesday November 8th it’s ELECTION DAY! AND NO SCHOOL NOVEMBER 11TH for Veteran’s Day!

SENIORS: Jostens will be back, Thursday November 10th 7:30-12:30 in the Commons to take orders. Please make sure you have your deposits READY! 

From the College room…

 Today - Campus Visit to Illinois State University. If you are on the list to attend, you will receive a reminder from the College Room. The bus leaves at 7:30am from the Taylor Street entrance.

Get on the Bus with Erica Austin!!! November 11, take the bus and visit Illinois College in Jacksonville, IL. The registration and more information can be found on 

the College and Career Canvas page. See you on the bus with School Board member Erica Austin!

Southern Illinois University Carbondale - will be in the Commons during lunch   November 28th.

Boys Basketball Try Outs are November 7th 6:15-7:45 for 9th and 10th graders and 7:45-9:15 for 11th and 12th graders.  November  8th tryouts will be 2:30-4:00 for 9th and 10th graders and from 4:00-5:30 for 11th and 12th graders. 

Wrestling Try-Outs are also Nov 7th in the Gym! 

Anyone interested in trying pole vault or other track and field events. There will be indoor track camps in November and December at Illinois College in Jacksonville.  For more information check out the website at IC.edu or contact Coach White at whitej9@sps186.org.
