 Good Morning Southeast students and staff, it's Friday October 14, 2022 and I am Allysse Lewis. Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL, they follow classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning throughout the building.

*Shout out to Mrs. Laub and the CTE teachers for their promotion of Financial Literacy and bringing students to the LLCC Career Expo! And to Mr. Potter for expanding knowledge and exploring careers through many excursions and guest speakers! And to all of the other teachers tying Careers to their lessons and preparing our students for whatever lies ahead. Kudos! From Mrs. Janazzo

Mrs. Friday's students would like to shout out to Mr. Lauber for doing a TERRIFIC job emcee-ing the Homecoming Pep Rally last Friday!!! 

Mrs. Stoutenborough would like to Shout out to Mr. Lewis and the whole security team. I’m so thankful for you helping to protect us each and every day.  We see you and we appreciate you!

She would  also like to shoutout Ms. Beenenga. Thank you for providing our students a safe, creative space and classroom.  You are one in a million and we appreciate you “showing up” for our students every day!

Attention Spartan Readers: Book Club will meet in room 105 after school on Mondays. Remember, book club is on Mondays!!

If you are interested in trying out for the Capitols League of Legends team, please make sure you have joined the Discord for tryout information. Tryouts will happen Tuesday, October 18th and Wednesday, October 19th so do not delay. If you have any questions, contact coach Dalton McGhiey or speak to an esports team member.

Asian Culture Club is meeting Monday October 17th in Ms. Au’s room 224. After school to 4:30. 

21st Century is an afterschool program running Monday-Thursday that offers academic enrichment including tutoring for homework, life-skills, college prep, and other activities while being able to socialize among your peers. Program will be starting next week, however students may join at any time. Everyday attendance for students is not mandatory although it is suggested and we have two teaching/ tutoring positions available for teachers who are interested.

From the College room…

Graduates Class of 2023 - FAFSA 23-24 is now OPEN!  

Want to go to the best college in the midwest? We are doing a Campus visit to Illinois State University in Bloomington/Normal on Nov 4th. Permission slips are available outside of the College Room (they are pink) and are due back by October 25th to the 

College Room. Seats are limited. Return your permission slip ASAP to reserve your seat. Remember you must be on level and passing all classes to attend.

 This Friday Eastern Illinois University will be visiting us in the lunchroom.

Saturday - You can go on your own to the Student Nursing Association meeting at Memorial (there is a cost of $20 see College and Career Canvas calendar for more details)

Seniors...Remember to work on your applications to college…Apply by Halloween to be eligible for the most institutional scholarships!

Picture retake day is October 26th!  This will be the last opportunity for senior pictures as well.  Pictures will be taken 7:30-12 in the auditorium.  

Did you know Ms. Juneteenth is our own class of 2022 graduate Teairriona Harris! She will be hosting a fun night of dancing and bonding across our community on October 22 at the One In a Million Building on 700 S. Livingston Street. Come out and enjoy bonding and learning to dance with Ms. Juneteenth herself. Who knows, maybe you’ll even learn what it takes to become the next Ms. Juneteenth! 

If you are missing any clothing items, hats, glasses, earbuds or keys PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check in the Student Office with Mrs. Currie. Things are turned in daily and hardly ever claimed.
