Good Morning Southeast students and staff, it's Friday, October 7, 2022 and I am Allysse Lewis. Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL, they follow classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning throughout the building.

 #Shout-out Friday! Mrs. Currie would like to shout me out, because I am doing a great job on the announcements, for being such a sweet, kind, and enjoyable person to have in our office. You are such a VIBE! 

#Mrs. Cotner  also wants to shout me out.  She says I have done a great job with the announcements this week! And she knows it is not easy to read them and that I have done a great job! 

#Ms. Tintori would like to shout out her speech students for being brave and presenting their first big speech. The students who presented did an awesome job and she is so proud of them.

#Mr. Calderon would like to shout-out the JV Scholastic Bowl team for their first win of the season, coming against Sangamon Valley HS earlier this week! Congratulations guys! 

#Mr Gardner would like to Shout out to Mr. Walls for BEING AWESOME!!!

#Mr. March is shouting out Tyles Cutler and Amarion Barron-for showing LEADERSHIP in class! Also, Mrs Foley and Mrs Golden for being inspirational examples of positive relationships with students! 

#Shoutout to Derrick Thompson for working hard in class on his assignments! Keep up the great work! -Mrs. Urbanek

 Attention Spartan Readers: Book Club will meet in 105 after school on Mondays. Once again, book club is on Mondays!!

If you are interested in trying out for the Capitols Fortnite team, please make sure you have joined the Discord for tryout information. Tryouts will happen Monday and Wednesday of next week, so do not delay. If you have any questions, contact coach Dalton McGhiey or speak to an esports team member.

You can buy Homecoming Tickets in the commons during lunch. They are $10 in advance. $15 if you wait until Saturday night. There will also be a 360 photo booth at Homecoming for $5

From the College room…

Graduates Class of 2023 - FAFSA 23-24 is now OPEN!  

Truman State will be in the College room at 10:35 on today!  

 Want to go to the best college in the midwest? We are doing a Campus visit to Illinois State University in Bloomington/Normal on Nov 4th. Permission slips are available outside of the College Room (they are pink) and are due back by October 25th to the College Room. Seats are limited. Return your permission slip ASAP to reserve your seat. Remember you must be on level and passing all classes to attend.

Colleges coming to visit at lunch this coming week are:

Wednesday - Lincoln Land Community college and the Air Force

Friday - Eastern Illinois University

Saturday - You can go on your own to the Student Nursing Association meeting at Memorial (there is a cost of $20 see College and Career Canvas calendar for more details)

Seniors...Remember to work on your applications to college…Apply by Halloween to be eligible for the most institutional scholarships!

Did you know Ms. Juneteenth is our own class of 2022 graduate Teairriona Harris! She will be hosting a fun night of dancing and bonding across our community on October 22 at the One In a Million Building on 700 S. Livingston Street. Come out and enjoy bonding and learning to dance with Ms. Juneteenth herself. Who knows, maybe you’ll even learn what it takes to become the next Ms. Juneteenth!
