February 22, 2022 - Mr. Potter's freshman biology class is trying to determine if the fish species we purchase at the grocery store is actually the fish species advertised.
During this two week experiment, funded by a Southeast PTO teacher grant, students will use biotechnology techniques such as micropipettes (a laboratory instrument used to accurately and precisely transfer volumes of liquid in the microliter range), polymerase chain reactions (a technique used to amplify DNA sequences) and gel electrophoresis (used to separate DNA, RNA, or protein molecules based on their size and electrical charge).
Check back to see their results.
