Good Morning Southeast students and staff. It's Monday, February 10th, 2025! I’m _____________. 

Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL, they follow classroom and school-wide expectations, allow for learning throughout the building, and can think critically.

Hey Spartans, if you are ever absent or just want to go back to see announcements because something really cool caught your attention.

Go to the Southeast webpage, scroll down and you will see the current announcements. If you want to see older announcements, click on SEE ALL POSTS.

From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information. 

Juniors', now through April 8th- ACT prep for Reading with Ms. Hiler will take place after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:35-4:35 in Room 214.

Student if you do not want your fruit, please leave it on the share table in the cafeteria. 

The Southeast JROTC will be collecting non perishable items to donate to the St. John's Breadline for their Service Learning Project. If you would like to donate, there will be collection boxes set up in the Taylor Street Entrance area.  

From the college room…

Welcome back, we are happy you are here!

Today, Next Level Beauty school will be here at lunch in the Commons and in the College Room at 12:55.  Send tjannazz@sps186.org an email if you want to attend.

On Wednesday, Alex from ISAC and Kim from Lincoln Land will be in the Library from 10:30 - 12:30 to work on applications, scholarships, FAFSA, etc.. Email tjannazz@sps186.org or ask your teacher for permission to go to the library. 

Also Wednesday, students will be traveling to the University of Illinois at Springfield. The bus leaves at 9:15 and will return by 1:00. Thank you Ms. Thompson for welcoming Alex and Kim to the Library:)

On Thursday, the US Air Force will be in the Commons at lunch.

Clubs/Opportunities


Student voice members, we have a meeting today during 6th hour. Please get your pass from Ms. Miller at lunch today.

Sports

Friday is the last day to try out for boys track, unless you are currently participating in a  winter sport.

The Spartans boys wrestling team had the Regional tournament on Saturday 2/8.  Advancing to Sectionals are Chris Hull, who won the regional tournament, & Frank Kittrell who came in 2nd.

Placing 4th were Gabe Lobemaster, Dom Porter,  & Kevin Gaines.

Awards/Celebrations

Coach LT and Senator Doris Turner teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things were offered, but one thing everyone enjoyed and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone,headphones, and dress code referrals starting Wednesday, October 23. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards on announcements Friday mornings to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements!
