Hey Spartans, if you are ever absent or just want to go back to see announcements because something really cool caught your attention.

Go to the Southeast webpage, scroll down and you will see the current announcements. If you want to see older announcements, click on SEE ALL POSTS.

From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information. 

The Poetry Out Loud school-wide competition will be held in the auditorium at 2:30 today. The contestants with the top two scores will move on to the regional at the Hoogland Center on February 13th. Best of luck to our Spartans competing today!

Juniors', starting Feb 4th through April 8th- ACT prep for Reading with Ms. Hiler will take place after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:35-4:35 in Room 214.

From the College Room…

Wednesday, January 29th, Southeast is hosting a scholarship workshop during 3rd and 4th hour in the Library. Representatives will be on hand to help you complete applications. Stop by over your lunch or WITH TEACHER PERMISSION, you may come down during 3rd or 4th hour.

Upcoming events.

UIS campus visit on February 12th - Tan permission slips are outside the college room.  Return signed permission slips soon to secure your space.

Illinois State University and Illinois Wesleyan University campus visit - February 19th. Pink permission slips will be available soon.

Bonjour....... French Club will meet Thursday (Feb. 6th) from 3:30-4:30 pm in room 111.

Sports

Girls' Track has officially started!  Practice is everyday after school! Wednesday 2:30-4 and Thursday, and Friday 3:30-5.  Come to the gym dressed and ready to work! 

Senior athletes interested in purchasing their senior banners, please see Mr. Williams in the athletic office if you have not paid. Banners will be taken down at the close of basketball season.

Awards/Celebrations

Coach LT and Senator Doris Turner teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things were offered, but one thing everyone enjoyed and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone,headphones, and dress code referrals starting Wednesday, October 23. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards on announcements Friday mornings to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements!
