Hey Spartans, if you are ever absent or just want to go back to see announcements because something really cool caught your attention.

Go to the Southeast webpage, scroll down and you will see the current announcements. If you want to see older announcements, click on SEE ALL POSTS.

From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information. 

Please put your coats in your locker before going to class. Come to school in dress code, and put your cell phone off and away once we start the school day. This includes earbuds/headphones. Also, slight change if you lost a coat or jacket please check the table in the foyer before you get to the metal detectors. That is where they have all been placed. Thank you.

Get ready for UNITY DAY 2025 happening Saturday, January 25th, 11 AM-1 PM at the Bank of Springfield Center - in the lower level! Join your friends from Lanphier, Southeast, Springfield, and SHG for: Fun Games & Activities, FREE Lunch, Prizes - YES we said PRIZES, plus a chance at winning tickets to the Saturday night games of City Tournament! Make sure you register this week at lunch or scan the QR code on posters that are posted around the school to be there for the fun!! Register and attend for your chance to win one of 30 prizes! Don't miss the hype – Unity Day is the move!

Clubs/Opportunities

Teen Court jurors we have a meeting today after school.

Student Voice members, we have a meeting this Thursday during 7th hour. Please see Ms. Miller during YOUR lunch shift for a pass. You must go to 7th hour FIRST for attendance, then ask to leave by showing your teacher your pass. Thanks.

Poetry Club will meet this Friday, January 17th from 3:30-4:00 pm in room 109. All are welcome to attend! Please see Mrs. Collins with any questions.

Key Club will meet on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, 3:25-3:45 in room 110. Correction -There will not be an after-meeting volunteer activity so please plan your rides accordingly.

Sports

Girls track will meet for conditioning Wed from 2:30-4 and Thursday and Friday from 3:30-5. Official track practice will begin Tuesday 1/21/25 @ 3:30pm!

If you plan to try-out for the softball team this year, there will be a Quick Parent Mtg at 630pm in the commons at Springfield High School tonight Jan 15. If you have any questions or your parent can't make it please reach out to Coach Porter by email at rporter@sps186.org or in her office in the college room. 

Students check your inbox for a sports interest survey. This survey helps us to determine the number of students interested in Southeast sports each year. This will be especially helpful as we communicate over the summer break about pre-season workouts for those participating in fall sports. Due to a grant our boys basketball team received, admission to the remaining home girls and boys basketball games will be free for the first 100 students. Arrive early and support our JV teams!

There are still spots on the boys swim team. If you are interested, please contact T-Will in the main office.

The athletic office is still accepting $85.00 athletic fees from winter athletes.

Thursday, January 16th

HOME GAME: Girls Basketball vs. Decatur Eisenhower - JV at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 7:00 PM

Collage Show Choir Rehearsal 6:30 PM- 9 PM

Friday, January 17th

SE will host Wrestling City Duals starting at 5 PM

Boys Basketball will travel to the Banterra Bank Warrior Showcase at Harrison High School in Indiana for the weekend

Saturday, January 18th (announce on Friday)

JV Wrestling at Glenwood, starts at 9 AM

Boys Swim will be traveling to Glenwood for a 2 PM meet

Collage Show Choir Choreography Rehearsal 9 AM - 4 PM

Awards/Celebrations

Coach LT and Senator Doris Turner teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things were offered, but one thing everyone enjoyed and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone,headphones, and dress code referrals starting Wednesday, October 23. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards on announcements Friday mornings to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements! Stay referral free to win a gift card on Coach LT!
