SE Spartan Announcements

Good Morning Southeast students and staff. It's Tuesday, November 26th, 2024! I’m _____________.

Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL, they follow classroom and school-wide expectations, allow for learning throughout the building, and can think critically.

And now for a moment of silence to start our day…Thank you.

Hey Spartans, if you are ever absent or just want to go back to see announcements because something really cool caught your attention.

Go to the Southeast webpage, scroll down and you will see the current announcements. If you want to see older announcements, click on SEE ALL POSTS.

From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information.

Attention 10th grade students interested in CACC for junior year! IF you are interested in CACC, please check your school email TODAY! CACC will host a sophomore Career Day on December 6th! A survey has been created for all 10th graders. IF you have poor attendance, behavior, and/or grades, YOU WILL NOT be allowed to attend. Please fill out the survey sent to your email by Wednesday, November 27th. Only 30 students will be able to attend, so your responses will be considered in the order in which they are received! If you have any questions, see Ms. Lewis in the Guidance office.

From the College Room…

Are you interested in a career in Law enforcement, corrections, legal professions, etc? See Ms. Jannazzo or Officer Acker for a permission slip to an upcoming field trip on December 2nd.

Seniors, you and your guardian should be creating your FAFSA IDs (username and password) - see the email from tjannazz@sps186.org for instructions. FAFSA opens December 1 - Be ready! Also, check the college website and student portal for scholarships.

Class of 2025 - On Wednesday, November 27 from 10:30 - 12:30, Alex from ISAC will be here to assist Seniors with college applications, FAFSA IDs, scholarships and more. Contact Jannazzo for a pass or stop by during your lunch break on Wednesday in the Library.

Seniors - Mark your calendars! Wednesday, December 18th is our FAFSA Completion Night from 5:30 - 7:00 in the Southeast Commons! Bring your FAFSA IDs and your parents or guardians to this event! More details will be forthcoming. Let’s finish FAFSA before Winter Break!!!

If you have been assigned credit recovery after school or have an Edmentum class with Ms. Farrar during period 2 or 5, please be mindful that you need to start completing your course(s).  When you are done, please have your instructor let your assistant principal in the Guidance Office know so that we can run a report and add your credit.  We will be recalculating credits at the end of the semester so you want to make sure that you have completed all assigned credit recovery courses!

Awards/Celebrations

We are bringing back Gift Card Giveaway Friday!! For anyone who doesn’t know last year Coach LT and Senator Doris Turner teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things were offered, but one thing everyone enjoyed and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone, headphones, and dress code referrals. I know everyone is worried because they may have received a referral from Quarter 1 for something, but guess what? Coach LT said you know what, no one is perfect, we all make mistakes, so we are going to start FRESH this Wednesday, October 23. What does that mean? Anyone referral free from Wednesday, October 23 through the end of the school year is entered into a drawing every Friday. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards on announcements Friday mornings to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements! So stay referral free to win a gift card on Coach LT!

Shout out to Merdi Mata and Karina Powell for making the right choice with a situation. Not only did they not open the door when they weren’t supposed to, they immediately came and told an adult about it and we were able to talk to Mr. Trigg and he was able to get the situation taken care of.  Well done girls on seeing something and saying something!

Proud of you for standing tall.
