Hey Spartans, if you are ever absent or just want to go back to see announcements because something really cool caught your attention.

Go to the Southeast webpage, scroll down and you will see the current announcements. If you want to see older announcements, click on SEE ALL POSTS.

From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information. 

Attention AP students:  Very few students have turned in their down payment for their AP exams to be ordered. If you plan to take ANY AP exams in the spring, the Guidance Office must have your down payment by Tuesday, November 12! If you turn in your money after the 11/12 date you will be responsible for the $40 late fee per AP exam in addition to the regular fees! Please see Ms. Lewis in the Guidance office if you have any questions.

If there is any junior interested in taking a course at LLCC for their teacher pipeline, please see Mrs. Metz

Skyhunter by Marie Lu is this week's First Chapter Friday pick. Go to the SSHS Library Canvas page to hear Ms. Thompson read the first chapter and stop by the library to check it out.

From the College Room…

Today - a representative from Grand Canyon University will be in the Commons at lunch

Also this afternoon, representatives from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville- CODES (Community Oriented Digital Engagement Scholars) will be in the College Room at 1:45. Email tjannazz@sps186.org if you would like a pass to see the SIUe CODES presentation.

On Tuesday, Nov 12 a rep from Illinois Wesleyan will be in the College room at 9:40 - sign the clipboard outside the college room if you are interested

And the Navy will be in the Commons during lunch on Tuesday

Seniors - On Wednesday from 10:30 - 12:30, Alex from ISAC, Kim from LLCC and Jannazzo will be in the Library to assist with any college applications and with setting up your FAFSA IDs. You will need to know your social security number. Stop by Wednesday during your lunch or ask your teacher to sign your pass to attend.

Do you want to be a teacher? Golden Apple - the teacher scholarship people, will be in the Library at 1:45 on Thursday, Nov 14th. Email tjannazz@sps186.org if you would like to attend.

Are you interested in a career in the Trades? Permission slips for the Building Trades Career Expo are outside the College Room. Join us for the field trip on Tuesday, November 19 from 9:15 to 11:00 by returning your permission slips by November 14th to the College Room 121.

Attention all students! Any student interested in joining the wrestling team should come to our first practice after school on Tuesday, November 12 in the gym. Wrestlers will need a physical to participate. See Coach Gardner in room 127 for any questions.

Mark your calendars! Boys basketball tryouts will take place on Tuesday, November 12th at 6:30 PM in the gym.

We are bringing back Gift Card Giveaway Friday!! For anyone who doesn’t know last year Coach LT and Senator Doris Turner teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things were offered, but one thing everyone enjoyed and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone,headphones, and dress code referrals. I know everyone is worried because they may have received a referral from Quarter 1 for something, but guess what? Coach LT said you know what, no one is perfect, we all make mistakes, so we are going to start FRESH this Wednesday, October 23. What does that mean? Anyone referral free from Wednesday, October 23 through the end of the school year is entered into a drawing every Friday. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards on announcements Friday mornings to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements! So stay referral free to win a gift card on Coach LT!
