Thursday October 31st, 2024 Topic/Air length | SE Spartan AnnouncementsGood Morning Southeast students and staff. It's Thursday, October 31st, 2024! I’m _____________. Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL, they follow classroom and school-wide expectations, allow for learning throughout the building, and can think critically. And now for a moment of silence to start our day…Thank you. |

ㅡ Clubs/Opportunities | Poetry Club will meet this Friday, November 1st from 3:30-4pm in room 109! The meeting theme is "silly children's book vibes," so feel free to bring a poem that fits the theme (or any poem you want). Please see Mrs. Collins with any questions! Speaking of dressing up for Halloween! Let’s do a huge group costume. Our very own Mr. Borders is dressing up as Gru from Minions, so every teacher and student should dress up as minions so we can make a tiktok at the very end of the day (like the ones playing in the background). Go all out on your costume if you would like. Don’t have a minions costume? No problem, it’s as simple as wearing blue jeans and a yellow/gold shirt, so everyone can participate! Show your east side pride, and come dressed as a minion Thursday, October 31. Which is next week! |
ㅡ Sports | Congratulations to all of our fall sports athletes and coaches on an exciting fall season. Girls swim won two meets this year. Cross-country runner Jasiah Singleton had a phenomenal season with a 2nd place finish at the Delavan Meet. All runners showed great improvement and made their coach proud. Our football team ended the season with an exciting win over Eisenhower and got to display their talent with a commanding win over LHS. Boys soccer improved their season, including a 7-0 win against Taylorville. Congratulations to Coach Murphy, who also received a Coach of the Year nomination from his CS8 colleagues. Girls Tennis, Boys Golf, and Girls Golf continue to be great opportunities for our students. Girls volleyball ended the season beating MacArthur in the first round of regional play and playing a very competitive game against highly ranked Taylorville. We hope to see participation grow across the board next fall. We also thank all of the staff and Blue Crew for your support! Athletes need to wash and turn in all of their uniforms to their coach or the main office. Students interested in spring sports, prepare for tryouts by making sure you have an up-to-date physical. Remember to Check the Southeast Athletics webpage for the full sports calendar. |
ㅡ Awards/CelebrationsWe are bringing back Gift Card Giveaway Friday!! For anyone who doesn’t know last year Coach LT and Senator Doris Turner teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things were offered, but one thing everyone enjoyed and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone, headphones, and dress code referrals. I know everyone is worried because they may have received a referral from Quarter 1 for something, but guess what? Coach LT said you know what, no one is perfect, we all make mistakes, so we are going to start FRESH this Wednesday, October 23. What does that mean? Anyone referral free from Wednesday, October 23 through the end of the school year is entered into a drawing every Friday. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards on announcements Friday mornings to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements! So stay referral free to win a gift card on Coach LT! |
