From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information. | Reminder - last chance for a school ID / school picture will be on Wednesday, October 23. TONIGHT from 4:00 - 7:30 - HBCUs and State colleges will be at the Union Baptist Church at 1405 E. Monroe. The event is free and always a great time - Bring your parent or stop by on your own. The Divine 9 and alumni from many HBCUs will be in attendance and love to talk about their experiences and how you too can attend an HBCU or experience being a part of the Divine 9 at a State/Public University. Events at Southeast TODAY, the Navy will be in the Commons during both lunch shifts. Thursday, Illinois College will be here to talk about their Nursing program during 2nd hour in the Health Science Academy. Sign up outside of the college room or email tjannazz@sps186.org for a pass. Also Thursday, the Urban League is hosting a College application workshop at 6:00pm in the Urban League workforce building 512 S. 11th Street. |

ㅡ Awards/Celebrations | Shout to the NHS kids for babysitting at parent teacher conferences! I know it wasn’t easy but you guys rocked it! We are bringing back Gift Card Giveaway Friday!! For anyone who doesn’t know last year Coach LT and Senator Doris Turner teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things were offered, but one thing everyone enjoyed and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone,headphones, and dress code referrals. I know everyone is worried because they may have received a referral from Quarter 1 for something, but guess what? Coach LT said you know what, no one is perfect, we all make mistakes, so we are going to start FRESH this Wednesday, October 23. What does that mean? Anyone referral free from Wednesday, October 23 through the end of the school year is entered into a drawing every Friday. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards on announcements Friday mornings to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements!
