Hey Spartans, if you are ever absent or just wanting to go back to see announcements because something really cool caught your attention.

Go to the Southeast webpage, scroll down and you will see the current announcements. If you want to see older announcements, click on SEE ALL POSTS.

From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information. 

New

Spartans! Southeast High School will hold a Sadies Hawkins Dance on Friday March 1, 7-9 pm. Tickets are $10 a person. If your date is not a Southeast Student please pick up a permission slip in the main office. Tickets will be on sale during lunch.

The Poetry Out Loud Central Illinois Regional Contest is Thursday, February 15, at 4:00 P.M. in Peggy Ryder Theatre at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.  There is no admission cost, and all are welcome.  Support Kallie and Ashyla as they represent Southeast. Good luck, Spartans!

Black History Assembly is this Friday, 7th hour in the auditorium. 

Taste of Black History - Wed, Feb 28th (2:30 - 5pm). In the Commons. Free Food, Games and Trivia!

We have Black History Spirit week Feb 26-March 1. The best dressed will receive a prize each day! 

Monday-Black and Bold (wear all black) 

Tuesday- Do it for the culture (Represent a country)

Wednesday- Wear a black history shirt or red/black/green shirt

Thursday- camo day

Friday- Throwback. 

Get those outfits ready!

The choir will be selling hot cocoa again, TODAY, during both lunch shifts.  Cups are $2 each, or 2 cups for $3.  Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far!  In addition, we will be selling gift cups to give to your loved one or bestie!  Gift cups are ready-made cups full of cocoa and delicious toppings, wrapped and decorated to give for Valentine’s Day.  They will be $3.00 each.

Join us for a heartwarming adventure at the park!

There will be five different Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunts available at the following parks: Washington Park, Lincoln Park, Southwind Park, Stuart Park, and Comer Cox Park. MR MARCH AND HIS HOUNDS WILL BE PARTICIPATING AT COMER COX PARK 

TODAY FROM 430-530pm!

How it works:

- First join the Valentine’s Day Park Scavenger Hunt Event Page on the Springfield Park District Facebook page.

- Clue unveiling: You will receive your first clue that will set you on a trail of love and adventure within the Valentine’s Day Park Scavenger Hunt Event Page for each park at 9:00am on February 14th.

- Explore the Park: Each Park Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt follows five clues scattered around the park to discover hidden treasures and romantic surprises.

- Teamwork: Work together with your partner or group to solve puzzles and conquer challenges.

- Final destination: Reach the final heart of the park for a special Valentine’s Surprise.  

- Once you have reached the final heart, there will be instructions for a special chance to win exciting prizes!

What to Bring:

Comfortable shoes, a fully charged phone or camera, and your sense of adventure and a heart full of love.

The Poetry Club will have our next meeting this Friday from 3:30-4:30 pm in room 107. See Mrs. Collins with any questions!

From the College Room: Scholarships for and through Lincoln Land Community College are due this Thursday, Feb 15th.

Upcoming Campus visit - Illinois State University on Feb 21st. Permission slips are outside the college room. Space is limited - get your permission slip in by Thursday.

Next FAFSA completion is Feb 28th during the school day. 

Seniors, you should have your college applications in to colleges and be finishing your FAFSA and working on scholarships! 

Note! College cost of admission or Student Award Letters will be late this year. It will likely be early April before you know the Cost of Attendance and Financial awards for the colleges you have been accepted into.

Housing and enrollment deposits…be mindful that many of these are not refundable if you decide to go to another college.

GIRLS SOCCER conditioning continues TODAY at 2:30 PM - 4:15 PM and Friday at 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM. 

Congratulations to our Spartan Wrestlers on a fantastic season. We had several wrestlers on the podium at multiple meets and a great effort was shown by students who were new to the sport of wrestling. Continue to be a champion in the classroom so you will be eligible for wrestling next fall. The athletic department also encourages wrestlers to get in the weight room and consider joining football or soccer next fall. 

SOFTBALL Try-Outs will be on February 26th at 3:30pm. Meet Coach Porter in the gym. If you have any questions please reach out to Coach Porter.

Anyone who is interested in playing BASEBALL this year should attend the meeting Next Wednesday February 21st in Room 218 immediately after school.  If you have any questions please see Coach Leininger in room 218 during the day.

Awards/Celebrations

Senator Doris Turner and Southeast have teamed up for violence prevention awareness. In doing so, they would like to reward students who exhibit positive behavior. 

So Reminder!! students with no referrals will have a chance at winning gift cards each week until the end of the year!!!!!

We are pulling winners for 3 gift cards. The winners will be announced FRIDAY on morning announcements!!! So make sure you are paying attention and good luck to every Spartan!!
