Good Morning Southeast students and staff, it's Word of the day Wednesday May 17, 2023! Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL, they follow classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning throughout the building.

The word of the day is Recluse which means loner, hermit….After being stuck in doors some people are now recluses.
Attention Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors…do you want to represent your class in student council next year. Forms are now out and in the main office and need to be returned by this Friday May 19th. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Barcik in room 103.
The Spanish Club will meet today Wednesday, May 17th from 2:45-4:00 pm in room 112. They will be doing a ¨Guac-Off¨ where we pair people up to battle against each other for making the best guacamole.
Book club members, Ms. Jones would like her books back. Please return any of Ms. Jones’ books to room 105. Thank you!
The SSHS GSA club will be marching in this year’s Pridefest Parade this coming Saturday, May 20. T-shirt sales have closed, but they do a few extras for people who want to join them when they walk in the parade. These are first-come/ first-served, so email Mr. March if you’d like to join!
The Southeast Choir will be selling popsicles this Thursday, May 18th during both lunch shifts. Stop by our table and cool off with a treat. We are also actively recruiting for next years’ group. Bring any questions you have about joining! Be sure to follow us on Instagram @southeast_choir to see the latest pictures and videos from our Spring concert.
From the Library: "All library materials are due back by this Thursday, May 18. Remember, students, you have access to free ebooks and audiobooks through SORA and the Lincoln Library all year round, so if you are not sure how to access these materials, see Ms. Thompson in the library before summer break begins.
Southeast Spartan family, The Lady Spartan Basketball players are now selling tickets for pull pork dinners. Dinners will include pulled pork sandwich, baked beans and coleslaw. Tickets are $10 and dinners can be picked up Saturday May 27 at the Taylor Street entrance. You will also be able to purchase dinners the day of the event. See any Lady Spartan basketball player or see Coach Collins to purchase your ticket.
The 2023 Spartan Yearbook has been delivered to the building. Do you want a copy? Stop by the Main Office or room 206 to buy your copy. A supplement with spring sports and events as well as graduation will be created and delivered this summer. The cost is $75.
Next Level Mastering Center, a Natural Hair and Braiding licensing school will be in the Commons. Stop by and see if a Career in Natural Hair and Braiding is right for you - Thursday in the Commons during lunch.
Bus tickets are here in the main office. If you did not pick your tickets up last month, they will go back and you will not receive any. Please make sure to go to the main office to pick up your bus tickets today.
Attention students the lost and found in the student office have 5 pairs of shoes and some hoodies and jackets that have been turned in over the past few weeks. Also we have some house keys and car keys. They will all be thrown out on the last day of school. So if you're missing something please come down to the student office and check it out!
Seniors - Please make sure you are checking your emails for up to date information on the end of the year dates. Seniors Honor Night will be held this Thursday May 18th at 6 pm in the auditorium. Seniors will need to let Ms. Lewis or Mr. Trigg know if they will be attending honors night. We will need a count so we can have the correct number of chairs on the stage. Seniors will be told if they are receiving an award so they can plan accordingly.
Cap and Gown pictures will be taken before the Senior Awards Ceremony on this Thursday, March 18th from 5-6 PM in the Taylor Street Lobby. Order forms are online, in the Main Office or in room 206. Prices are reasonable and you will receive your orders before senior finals.
Attention seniors there will be a community grad trunk party held this Saturday, May 20th at 1100 South Grand East (the old beauty and wireless center building) from 12-4pm. The first 200 seniors in attendance that can show proof of attending college, trade school, or military after graduation will win a “trunk” filled with things every college student needs. There will be a live DJ, food, and door prizes! Join in on the fun as we support your future.
