Good Morning Southeast students and staff, Quote Tuesday March 7th, 2023! Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL, they follow classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning throughout the building.

Her work focuses on issues of oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization, as well as the African diaspora. Gorman was the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate. You may remember her from biden’s inauguration speech. 

Students graduating this year, reminder that if you will be walking on Saturday, June 3rd and HAVE NOT ordered your cap and gown, please do so ASAP.  All graduates walking MUST HAVE a cap and gown.

If you need a Jostens order form please stop by the Guidance office.  Also Seniors don't forget to pay your fines!  If you have fines still unpaid you will not be able to pick up your cap and gown! —*Read till Spring Break 

Athletes who want to play a sport in College…Today, after school we will have a meeting to go over the high school requirements for College athletes in both NAIA and NCAA. If you are interested in playing a college sport, plan to stay after school on Tuesday, March 7th for important information about grades and course selection in high school. See Ms. Jannazzo or Coach Lauber with questions. Sign up sheets with QR codes will be posted around Southeast.

Cheerleading tryout packets for the 23-24 school year are available in the main office. Cheerleading tryouts will be March 29 thru April 1st.

Mark your calendar! Thursday, March 9th there is an event after school from 3:30-5pm. Brilliant Minds that Shine is an empowering event open to all students! Did you know there is only one black female police officer in Springfield? Her name is Officer Pflug and she will be here to talk with us! Mrs Foley will be here with snacks! And there will be a student coffee/drink bar! Sign up for the event in room 105, room 175H or the library! 

What are you doing next today after school?  You should come to the Key Club meeting after school in room 110.  We will discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities and talk with community leaders from Downtown Springfield.

There will also be an after-meeting activity from 3:45-4:45. 

Wow you guys really liked the pizza, this Friday we are doubling our order, that's right, twice as much pizza so we don’t run out so soon! So Friday, during lunches, we will have the BBSS Antonio's pizza fundraiser. Enjoy some slices while helping us raise funds for student and staff rewards. Cost is $3 dollars for one large slice, or $2 for 5!
