-There is enough drama in your life, so you may as well join the club!  Drama Club is back and will be holding its first meeting on Thursday, February 16th from 3:30 to 4:30 in Room 244 (Ms. Hutchison’s room).  Students who are interested in acting, set design, costume design, or any other aspect of theater are encouraged to attend!

-Any girls interested in competing in Track & Field practice will be Monday thru Friday. Meet by room 250 at 3:45pm. Any questions see Coach Daniel.

-Student Voice Team Members - We will be meeting NEXT THURSDAY, February 16th, 2023 during 2nd period. You will go to first period, and then meet Mrs. Pochynok right outside of the North Office near the Main Entrance before 2nd hour. Please make sure you talk to your second hour teacher about what you will be missing.

-Announcing Lanphier’s first Black History Month Open Mic! From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 13th, students will have the chance to share their school-appropriate original poems, songs, comedy sketches, etc; or recite poems and other excerpts by Black authors. This year’s theme is Resistance. What do you fight for? What do you protect? What would you do to keep your freedom? Presenters do not have to stick to the theme, but it is encouraged. All are welcome to participate or to listen. Presenters can sign up with Mr. Wilson in room 235 or With Mr. Jackson in room 245.

-This is a reminder that NO HOODS, HATS, OR BAGS CAN BE WORN IN THE BUILDING AT ANY TIME. There will be random classroom sweeps and any students that are violating this expectation will have consequences issued.

-We will be recognizing Black History Month with a quote each day. Here’s today’s quote: "You have to give yourself permission, even when you’re doing it." — Toni Morrison, The Source of Self-Regard

-Now for a moment of silence.

-Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

-And now it’s time for today’s welcoming ritual. Please take a minute to discuss your response with your class: Tomorrow is National Inventor's Day! If you had unlimited money and resources and the ability to do so, what would you invent?

Have a great day Lions!
