Now it is time for today’s welcoming ritual, please take a moment to discuss your response with your class: Today is another school day of Women’s History Month! Each day, we will be highlighting a woman who is making history here at LHS, giving an inspirational quote from a Woman of History, and having a trivia question about women of history!
Today’s history making woman at LHS is: Ms. NOSA!!!!!
Ms. Nosa is currently in her first year at Lanphier, but she has been with many schools in the district including Feitshans and Washington. Ms. Nosa enjoys the students here at Lanphier and the opportunities she has to follow students’ progress through the schools she has worked at.
If you see Ms. Nosa today, thank her for her amazing work ethic, her powerful presence, and her compassion for everyone here at LHS!
A Woman of History that inspires Ms. Nosa is Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
An inspirational quote from Justice Brown Jackson is: “You can't always expect to be the smartest person in the room, but you can promise to be the hardest working."
Women’s History Trivia: Yesterday’s trivia answer was Rosalind Franklin was credited with work to help understand the structures of DNA molecules. Today’s trivia question is out of the 115 people who have been Supreme Court Justices, how many have been women?
Teachers: Please discuss with your class, and email Mr. Anderson at mranderson@sps186.org with your answer in the subject line of the email for a chance to win a special prize by the end of the week!
Have a Great Day lions!
