Lanphier High School

Monday, November 25th, 2024 

-"If you need to sign up for Behind the Wheel, please email Ms. Kauffman. Her email is posted outside her classroom."

-The Snack Shop will be back and Opened Up at Lunch TOMORROW (Tuesday) during both lunch shifts! Come on down to the South end of the atrium. (The usual spot!) 

-"Hey you! Yes, You! Join Lanphier High School's premier Step Group. Come Step With Us. We will meet TODAY after school in the Atrium 3:30-4:30. We are planning performances, competitions, fun and prizes! Join today! See Ms. Miller from student support in room 2-042 for details."

-Men's Track and Field conditioning will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting this week from 3:30 to 4:30. Meet in Mr. Martin's room in the science hallway each day.

"Are you interested in picking up a new hobby? Try Crochet Club! We will meet on Thursdays after school from 3:30-4:30 in Ms. Cookson's room 3-038. It's good therapy!"

-21 century is canceled for today and the rest of this week

-Attention Seniors - November 27th is the Mock ACT date, and since you will not be testing, we have approved activities for this date for you to choose from. The approved list of students who will be considered excused will be posted on the Global Canvas announcements by noon tomorrow, Tuesday, November 26th. If you did not physically turn in your permission slip by 3:30pm last Friday, your name will NOT be on the list, no exceptions. 

-Art club will meet after school on Tuesdays in Mr. Wilson’s room. 

-The district-wide cell phone policy that must be followed by all students and enforced by all staff members. When students enter the building, all electronic devices must be powered off and put away so they are not visible (for example: In a Chromebook bag, small purse, in your locker, etc.). The policy applies even in the hallways/bathrooms/between classes, etc. The ONLY place where your electronic devices can be on and used is during lunch in the Atrium/Cafeteria/Courtyard area. It must be powered back off and put up before the bell rings to dismiss you from lunch. This policy is now in full effect here at LHS. We have noted a major increase in phones and headphones visible in the hallways, as a reminder, all rules are in effect in the hallways as well. Phones will be confiscated in the hallways as well.

And now it’s time for today’s welcoming ritual. Please take a moment to discuss your response with your class: Since it is Thanksgiving week, we are going to kick it off with a Gratitude Challenge! Today, take a few minutes to write a letter, email, or send a text (but only at lunch or after school!) thanking someone for helping you get to where you are today. Feel free to share with the class someone who comes to mind that you could express your gratitude to today!
