-The first ever Esports City Tournament is happening at the end of March! If you would like to try out to represent the Lions, stop by Coach Leach's room - room 250 - this week. You do not already have to be in the esports program to try out. We're breaking up the Capitols, inviting the Cyclones, and seeing who the best esports school in Springfield is!

-Any girls interested in competing in Track & Field, practice will be Monday-Friday. Meet by room 250 at 3:45pm. Any questions see Coach Daniel.

-This is a reminder that NO HOODS, HATS, OR BAGS CAN BE WORN IN THE BUILDING AT ANY TIME. There will be random classroom sweeps and any students that are violating this expectation will have consequences issued.

-This Week we are holding a Cultural Celebration Week! We would LOVE every single student and staff member to participate! Here are the themes for each day:

TODAY, February 22nd: Black Excellence - There are many important figures in Black history and popular culture. Feel free to dress up as your favorite fictional or real black icon.

Thursday, February 23rd: A Different World - Take us back to the 90’s with your hip-hop fashion or attire that honors a historically black college or university (HBCU) or a Divine 9 (D9) organization.

Friday, February 24th: Ujima: Ujima, which means collective work and responsibility, is one of the seven Kwanzaa principles. Feel free to wear red, black, green, or a combination of these colors in solidarity with our peers.

-In celebration of Black History Month, we will be sharing a quote of the day. Today’s “I always believed that when you follow your heart or your gut, when you really follow the things that feel great to you, you can never lose, because settling is the worst feeling in the world.” —Rihanna, singer, actress, and businesswoman.

-Now for a moment of silence.

-Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Have a great day Lions!
